I know this is off-topic, but why is Starscream away?

There was a fight on the irc which led to him retiring. More details (not much more) are in the random thread.

So that guy retired? Then i suppose i have no good reason not to return to the forums any more..
xemnas Wrote:Yes, it's supposed to be fixed any time. But right now, it's not working. And using OpenGL/D3D9 is a workaround.

And what about the bugs that occur in BOTH openGL and d3d11? Since d3d9 is gone now we're kind of fucked when it comes to these. I think that was the OPs point.

Except that all the veteran members still remember what you did.

Sigh.....what's up with you lately? It isn't like you to provide responses like that.

I remember he was still here when I started. A also can find a post by Starscream saying he "pitched a fit" after having a commit reverted. I can't remember more than that. Can I have more information.

If it makes you feel any better, JMC and I will be writing up a blog article about why we dropped d3d9 over the next few days so that all the people making uneducated concerns and/or dumb complaints can finally stop annoying the hell out of everyone working on things.
It makes me fell better Big Grin (not that I felt bad)
For every game that doesn't work properly with the DX11 backend but works with the DX9 backend there is at least five other games that have bugs with the DX9 backend. DX11 is currently the most stable and compatible, any issues will be fixed in time as they usually are.
