Hello everybody. This is my first post and I am relatively new to emulation so this is probably going to be very stupid. However, I am trying to run the Dolphin 4.0 x64 and it crashes frequently during games. Usually it crashes every 30 minutes. I am running Dolphin on the default settings and I got it off of this website. The computer I am using is a pre-built laptop. I am using Windows 8 as my operating system and it is 64 bit. My processor is an Intel i7 3630QM and my video card is an nvidia geforce gt 635M. I have approximately 8GB of RAM but I do not know what the RAM brand is or how to find it. If you have read this far then thank you very much. I can take screencaps if necessary.
Does this happens with any specific game(s) or with all the games supported by the emu?
Tip: to get detailed info about your laptop use CPU-Z and GPU-Z.
It can be very helpful to read the crash report, in many times it point to a consistent dll. Post the info in that report. I think dolphin also has a debug you can turn on.

It has happened with all the games I have tried. So far it has been Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2 and TLoZ: Wind Waker.
Also thank you very much for teaching about the wonders of CPU-Z and GPU-Z. This will come in handy!

Unfortunately when it crashes a crash report does not appear. If it exists within the emulator then I do not know how to access it sorry. I would open up the log and post what happens but sadly the entire program crashes and I cannot get to it. Should I post the folder of the dll files in here?
Probably, what ulao means is that if you can post here a file called exceptioninfo.txt, which has the code(s) of the crash.

EDIT: I do not have this file in my dolphin folder. Sorry, but where do I find this file?
I think you just need to check view->show log config->under logger out puts->log to file. Then run a game and let it crash and show us what the log wrote. Again, I'm not a dev on dolphin here but I think it may lend a clue.
Well I found a file called dolphin.txt in the log folder and this is what it had to say: (Unfortunately my computer directory is named after me. I really didn't have a choice because windows 8 does that.)

So I am running Metroid Prime with the log open. I chose Metroid Prime because it works really well. I have no idea what the log means but I am getting some interesting things. One of them is this message

In the second one the interger values are usually different every time and the second one only starts at the beginning of the emulation. I have also noticed that it will always crash after roughly 15-20 minutes.
Well I really hate to bump my own thread like this but I tried using version 3.5 and I have not had a problem. I think for now I will stick to version 3.5. Thank you everyone for your help and I look forward to using 4.0 in the future! It is an amazing and beautiful emulator. Sorry if I wasted anybody's time with this thread.
I'm very surprised no one is willing to help you on the error log? Though consider making a bug report.
