Seriously? He says he is using 3.5-367 and no one tells him to update? Shame on you people!

4evrplan, use the latest development build from the official site - https://dolphin-emu.org/download/
I thought I was downloading the latest version, but I saw it doesn't match what's on the google code site. I guess I scrolled down too far or something. Priority one is to get a working game save, though. If/when that happens, I'll worry about the version. If it doesn't happen, I'll have to downgrade even more to be able to load my old save state.

Yeah, i sometimes scroll through 57 pages without realizing too.

One way to avoid it would be to go to the emulation menu, and start recording, because in that case, the memory card IS saved to the save state, but be careful because it will save the entire memory card, possibly overwriting save files belonging to other games.
Do you mean it's a known issue for this game that if I use save states, the game save will corrupt? Regarding start recording, do I need to do it every time when I play the game?

I think people focus on the save states/game save issue which is more serious. But yes. After it's resolved, he should upgrade.

Yes, it's a known issue. Fixing it comes with a rather serious potential consequence. If we save the memory card to the save state, then if you were to make a save state in wind waker, then switch to another game, save to the memory card, then go back to wind waker and load your save state, it would overwrite your save file for the other game.

There are two ways to start recording: go through the menu, as i explained before, or turn off read only (in the emulation menu), and then load a save state that was saved while recording. You would need to do one of these things each time you started playing. If you decide to do this, please be careful not to overwrite your other save files. In fact, you'd probably want to just make a separate memory card just for wind waker.
I see. Thanks for the information.

...Well, I knew about the branch, but I don't remember THAT being in the description. Good work, memcard guy who doesn't show up often! :D
