keyboards are expensive, but honestly how good of a keyboard you need depends on what you're used to so far. If you are used to cheap rubber domes, a more expensive cheap dome board (~$30-60CAD for simple rubber domes) would really be fine. If you've tasted of good mechs, you'll need a more expensive board. The real beauty about keyboard budget is that it is TRULY subjective, and you don't need to replace your keyboard as technology betters.
Also, unlike NV implies, it is not likely at all that you will want to change your switches (I am very regular on geekhack and lurk deskthority and know very few people who have changed the switches on one of their boards, and in almost all cases it was a custom board and they decided they didn't like the switches they put in). The bigger difference between plate-mounting and PCB-mounting when not building your own board is visuals, durability, and key stability (rocking, mount flexing etc.), both of which win with plate-mounting, and when building your own board plate-mounting is also much cheaper and allows any layout you want. The only upside to PCB-mounting is that it is easier to work with.
So think about what kind of boards you're used to, go a step or two above that, find cheap boards, look at reviews, and always keep in mind that if it's a modern board that doesn't do NKRO over USB then it's not worth the money.
Thanks. I've actually had an old ps2 mechanical keyboard plugged in for the past few days (which I'd guess to be pretty close to cherry mx greens) and it's already put my typing speed up despite having a few keys which have become stiff over time and some others with no key caps and also no rollover whatsoever. I definitely like the tactile feedback, but not the clacky noise which is enough to wake people in the next room, so that suggests I'd want brown switches. Unfortunately, most places in the UK seem to have the idea that $1=£1 with keyboards, and no-one stocks anything lower end with brown switches in a UK layout.
Honestly if you're worried about price I'd go for a TKL (which would also save space, as well), or any other reduced layout, though I know there are a lot of games which recklessly bind to the tenkeys, assuming everyone with a keyboard has them. Two really good reduced boards with browns in your own link are
QFR TK stealth (blank caps) and
QFR TK.
And if you still want a full board and are okay with the obnoxious amount of edge and large amount of space taken up by this board, there's also
this board.

If I got a tenkeyless, then I'd end up with an external tenkey pad or something too, as I use it too much to live without it. Space isn't the biggest concern - if I was ever anywhere with a small desk, I'd be using my laptop, and that already has a keyboard, so the osmium would be fine.
the ones I linked aren't TKL, they're a sort of smashed layout removing the nav cluster hardly used in games and putting it in the fn layer. I also recommend the QFRs over the Aviva because cooler master generally uses much, much better caps than gigabyte.

Good mechanical keyboards are objectively better regardless of what you're used to. And if you want to go with a plate mounted design (which does have its advantages which is why most brands use them) you better be damn sure you know exactly what switches you want before buying because changing them in any way is an absolute nightmare.

good keyboards are not something where you HAVE TO have the best, nv. You generally do not need to go better than the best keyboard that you've had, because even though better keyboards are better, it isn't like graphics cards where you have to have that better experience to have enough. Moving up to more expensive keyboards serves only to make your life more expensive, whenever you need a new keyboard, as it is rare to be able to settle for less after tasting of a good keyboard.
Sit back for a second and think about how if AON3 doesn't know what to get with keyboards, he probably isn't at the point where he NEEDS to spend $100+ on a keyboard to feel right, unlike you or I, and he's CLEARLY restricted by money if he is trying to keep from spending much on the keyboard.
It isn't cancerous to tell the fucking truth, man, jeez think about the existence of people who don't money flowing out of their ass constantly.
Oh, and just to be more clear, it's completely fine to cheap out on a keyboard. Having a bad keyboard isn't a safety hazard and only affects typing, and sometimes gaming, performance by a small amount.
EDIT: It should also be noted that cooler master quickfire boards are EXTREMELY good, especially for the price.
