I am planning to buy lenovo y580 and I wondering between version with Intel Core i3-3120M and the one with Intel Core i5-3230M.
Is to worth to invest more money in CPU and get the one with i5? Will there be noticable speed improvement in games with it?
Games I would like to play are basically all mario and zelda games.

Can someone with that laptop report how it handles Dolphin? How's the speed? Is it overheating?
You will get better results with the (specially high-clocked) i5 CPU.
Some games of both Super Mario and Legend of Zelda series will run at full speed, others will be slower but playable, and finally others that will run VERY slow unless you make some changes.
With 3230m:
- NSMB, Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda WW will work fine
- SMG 1/2, Zelda TP and Zelda SS will be playable but don't expect full-speed
Thanks for the answers.

What about Intel Core i3-3120M CPU? Will it be much slower or there will be small slowdown? If the difference is a matter of 5fps I will go with the i3.
Go for i5
Definitely the i5.
Would the Lenovo y500 be better than the y580 with the intel core i7 and NVIDIA GeForce GT750M at playing games like Super Mario galaxy
No. The Y580 is a higher model.
Y410p or Y510p with Core i7 4700MQ + Nvidia GT 750M
Intel Core i3-3120M and Intel Core i5-3230M are very similiar right? Besides TB that i5 isn't much better than that i3. Will Dolphin even make use of TB?
