Also, if it helps, creating a new save file in SSBB has the same problem, FPS drops to 1-5 for around two minutes until the collect.vff file in User\Wii\title\00010000\52534245\data folder get around 14MB in size
Is the behavior from SSBB a regression? I can't remember if it does that in older builds or not.

Maybe you didn't read my post properly:
Basically, nothing I used to be able to do with Wii-Network works anymore (except for Dr. Mario).
If I can use an older build and not have any of these issues, it's a regression.
It's not a regression when only looking at what happened at master though. While it's useful to know that it used to work in an old version of wii-network, it's not like the Dolphin experience in 4.0 gets any worse compared to 3.5 due to these things though.
I guess that's one way of looking at it. Another would be that the merging of Wii-Network was supposed to be a good thing and something to be proud of, instead, we got a rush-job with half of the functionality broken. Anyway, I'm not interested in this aspect of Dolphin anymore and will be moving on.
this is very very minor but here goes:
configure wiimote classic controller and assign all keys to each button and axis.
When you go back to configure the classic controller the the Dead Zone, Square Stick and Radius values are not shown.
When you reassign a new button the values are shown again. Hope this makes sense - please see attached pictures.
FYI it never worked in 3.5 x 64 stable
tested on 3.5 - 2156 x64
Windows 7 64 bit
Dolphin 4.0 is certainly a chance for a new icon, right? Seeing as how the forum and Facebook page use that Dolphin icon, why not the actual emulator?
This is what I've conceptualized.
It's like the favicon, just not squished.
Just tried rev 3.5-2202 and 3.5-2199 (both 64-bit) and noticed two bugs
These bugs are not in 3.5 stable
I am playing Project M and to the load the game requires Gecko OS and IOS 36. I am using an sd.raw image to load game files. Gecko OS loads before installing IOS 36 but, of course, can't start the game without it. The bug comes after I install IOS 36.wad. Gecko OS will not load at all just black screen. Another bug I noticed in these revs is that Dolphin will not open a Gecko OS 1.9.3.1 wad I made (works in 3.5) but will only run the .elf or .dol. Hopefully this will be easily reproduced and easily fixed. Thank you for all your hard efforts.
Sorry for bringing this up once again, but this is an application-breaking bug, making nearly all games unplayable on older hardware:
Dolphin 3.5: most games (Example: Zelda SS) have good audio running at the correct speed and are perfectly playable from start to finish, even if the frame rate does not always reach 100% speed
Dolphin 4.0 (just tested 3.5-2263): nearly all games have completely broken, extremely choppy audio or the sound is fine but runs in slow motion -> nearly all games are unplayable this way (!!!) unless you disable audio completely, timestretch makes the problem even worse
Therefore please include the old async HLE as an option or provide a new async HLE too keep players with normal, non-overclocked ultra high end hardware happy because they will not be able to enjoy the new HLE audio engine or be able to enjoy Dolphin 4.0 at all. And there should be an option to disable the ugly audio time stretch.
If Dolphin 4.0 is released in it's current state, the majority of end users will be extremely unhappy because for them audio will be broken.
