Hi, everyone! Big Grin
I'd like to know which one of these config are good enough to run GC games (full graphics aren't needed.)
CONFIG 1

Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge - 3230M 2.6GHz, 3MB Cache (3.2GHz com Max Turbo)
4 GB DDR3 (1600 MHZ)
Nvidia GeForce GT 640M GPU com 1GB

Do I need an I7 for this first one? If neither an I7 is enough, what about the following:

CONFIG 2
Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge - 3230M 2.6GHz, 3MB Cache (3.2GHz com Max Turbo)
8 GB DDR3 (1600 MHZ) / ( 2x 4 GB)
Nvidia GeForce GT 640M GPU com 1GB

CONFIG 3
Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge - 3230M 2.6GHz, 3MB Cache (3.2GHz com Max Turbo)
8 GB DDR3 (1600 MHZ)
Nvidia GeForce GT 650M GPU com 2GB

It would be better with an I7 CPU? What do you guys think about it?

By the way, these are notebook settings... Thanks!!! Big Grin

Which games?
Ok,
the most popular ones: like Metroid, Zelda, Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil, MGS Twin Snakes, Super Smash Melee, and so...

I don't need a perfect emulation, only a good speed gaming.
With that CPU (3230m):
- Zelda WW, Super Mario Sunshine, SSBM will work fine
- Some RE games will be playable but not all of them
- Zelda TP and Zelda SS will be barely playable
- MGS and Metroid series will give you more trouble (these are demanding games)
What is the most important in Gamecube emulation: CPU, RAM or GPU?

Is 4GB fine or 8GB needed?

Is GT 640M enough?

CPU.

4GB are enough.

You could get something worse Tongue
Will I get significant performance improvement by changing I5 for I7?
Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge - 3630QM 2.4 GHz, 6MB Cache (3.4 GHz com Max Turbo)

The same between 640M and 650M?

Notice that is just a console emulation machine. Not for PC games.

Moderate improvement.

That depends on what resolution you run the games at.
Is it fine for max 2x resolution or even native?

Intel Core i7 Ivy Bridge - 3630QM 2.4 GHz, 6MB Cache (3.4 GHz Max Turbo)
4 GB DDR3 (1600 MHZ)
Nvidia GeForce GT 640M GPU 1GB
Is that a DDR3 or GDDR5 GPU?

Your CPU should be good enough for the games you want to play. Keep in mind that there might be places where you will experience slowdowns though.
