Make sure whatever you get has a 3D comb filter so the composite input doesn't look like garbage.
XBR 960 though super fine pitch (1440x1080) would be overkill for those consoles. My Hi-Scan 970 gets the job done (even Wii games don't look half bad on it).
I'll probably get the Sony Trinitron. It's really cheap, and seems nice based on the reviews. Also it's on Amazon so I don't have to go pick it up (which I couldn't anyway and my parents would never go for it). I like LCDs better for TV but for DVDs and video games up to Wii (Wii U should be played on LCD) I would use the CRT. I'm surprised they are so cheap though. It's like people just want to give them away.

I would also want a CRT moniter for the Commodore 64. Those are easy to find, though.
Actually the zapper in theory can work on any TV, the reason it doesn't is because of the delay on LCD screens :3

Because nobody would buy them otherwise. The advantages of those old CRTs are grossly overstated on internet forums and the disadvantages outright ignored.
This actually leads me to another question. Will Ataris and NESs still be available in like new condition on eBay and Amazon in 4-5 years? I know SNESs will, but I want to purchase the game changers. Buying them now would not work since 1. I don't have enough money and 2. I would have nowhere to put them. Once I get to college I can start my collection. So will people still sell them and keep them in good order or will they be almost dead and super expensive?
Probably. I don't think the condition matters as much as you think it does. The condition of the internal parts is what matters and that's not something you can easily identify. Who cares if it has a few scratches on the outside.
Well Like New condition should run the best (unless it's new, but that can get expensive).

Well that's a relief. I want to collect every video game system, and then play them. I just want the original over an emulator because then graphical glitches are non existent and it gives a greater feel of nostalgia. In the collection would be as many games as I could get for each system. I also want to collect every issue of Nintendo Power (R.I.P.) and have te ultimate NY Giants mancave.

If anyone watches Angry Video Game Nerd, I want an exact copy of his collection. Except kept neater.

Then I'm probably good.
If I ever find my old collection of nintendo power magazines (assuming I didn't throw them away) you're welcome to have them.
