If it's pure diamond sure. But diamond isn't liquid at room temperature and it's extremely expensive. That poses some issues for using it in thermal grease. Some thermal pastes do use diamond powder in them but they can only use a small amount. They are mildly more efficient than silver based compounds but generally not worth the high cost.
Not all carbon based compounds are the same. MX-4 uses microparticles made of small carbon fiber(s) suspended in a highly viscous fluid to make it act as a paste. I can't claim to fully understand the physics behind this but I would imagine that density of the compound and particle size would play a big role among other things. It's clear that for whatever reason some carbon based greases are better than others. MX-4 is high on that list.

92% is a small amount? (that's what IC Diamond 7 carat claims anyway)
And tbh, I was thinking more about a hypothetical diamond heatsink rather than thermal paste.
92% by weight, by volume, something else? Help me out here. Diamond heatsinks do exist in industrial applications. They're not exactly common though due to the cost. They are extremely efficient though.

Sorry, by weight. I would assume that means they can "cheat" and make it only be like 5% diamond by volume if the rest of the stuff is extremely light, correct?

Hey! I'm sorry to post in an old thread, but I've been getting really frustrated trying to figure this out. I've followed all of these steps, but I have a problem with my Graphics card. My Nvidia Geforce GT 640m will NOT work for Dolphin. When dolphin is running, I get the message on the taskbar helper that says, "Nvidia GPU activity: None." I also downloaded Nvidia Inspector, and while dolphin is running, it maxes out at like 135MHz for my gpu. I don't understand why it won't work. :/
I don't know who added them there, but given that the Linux link isn't even linking to dolphin-emu.org the FAQ should probably be rephrased to say sth like "may or may not work for you because we didn't write them". IIRC the links were only added to have any advice at all for people with problems, but (without any offense) this guide isn't really on par with the official guides in terms of quality.
MaJoR worked on that iirc, and he asked me how to get Nvidia Optimus working on Linux. I had no clue, never having dealt with it, so I gave him that Linux link as the best reference Google could find for me. I agree that we should add qualifiers such as "may work" or "possible solutions in these links", stuff to that effect, especially since none of us have even tested getting Optimus to work on Linux with Dolphin.
