Full Version: Installing Direct X Runtime and other drivers w/o internet access?

I had another thread in the Hardware section and I asked the same question, but I realized this was software so I decided to make a new post.

My new computer's up and running, but I need drivers in order to play anything. That's a problem; the Ethernet cables I bought are still on order, and thus I have no internet access. I copied the install wizards onto a USB and I tried to run them on my computer. I ran the C++ Redistributable no problem, but the Direct X Runtime and the drivers for my Xbox360 controller all needs internet access to run. How can I install the drivers without internet access? Actually, there are some DirectX offline installers that maybe can help you. I´ll try to put one of them here so you can get it. (Sorry if this sounds a bit antique, but the last one I have is the DirectX 9.0B offline installer).
He's online now, he can download his own offline installer. Smile

Also. it has to be the absolute latest DirectX version otherwise Dolphin will not be happy.

The only guy I can remember who was working on a portable Dolphin package was only doing crap (he included some weird 100 MB 3rd party software in the package because he had no idea what he was doing).

It's really not terribly hard to create a Dolphin portable package, just include the VC runtime, d3dx9_whatever.dll and xinput.dll next to the Dolphin binary and be done.
I was working in a version compliant with PortableApps.com software, but I'm lacking free time to update it right now...

However, due some restrictions of PortableApps.com, you need to use the portable DirectX Runtime, but if you need only the installer, you can use http://www.mediafire.com/download/07aw1qnvp4q6pjv/
You need an internet connection when installing, but after that, it's completely offline...
