@Shonumi
That's quite an interesting opinion you have there. Was there anything in specific that turned you off? How many episodes have you seen?

Lol it seems so. You seem very critic rating your anime.

Quote:i've checked your list and you don't have that many titles.
Yeah, I only plan to watch 'serious' anime, so no SOL and casual anime.

Quote:When i first watched both of these shows i actually rated them higher than they are now but after watching a few other titles, i was left with no choice than to lower them to accommodate higher powers.
But why would you do that Zee? The first time you see an anime are your first impressions of it and you rate the anime based on that. You've now arbitrarily degraded it. Sad
But hey, your list, your rules man.

Quote:My advice to you is try to watch a lot of more titles and see if you still feel Deathnote and Code Geass are the best of the best.
They are among the best yes. True masterpieces.
I do understand what you mean with me having to see more titles, but I can judge an anime fairly too even if I haven't seen a hundred different anime.
I'm also certain my opinion won't change even after having seen other titles.
Oh hey look, he's alive

I lol'd at you dropping Darker than Black. Was it too difficult to follow?

Again, this is just a subjective viewpoint but i really think you should give SOL a chance, as of now i enjoy SOL more than 'serious' anime. When i first started, all i cared about was watching anime with some cool action scenes, after watching several, most seemed cliche and repetitive that the genre is falling out with me bit by bit. SOL isn't always those highschool romance stories about teenagers going through puberty but there are some shows that can really push your emotions to the extreme. SOL's main strength lie with it's characterization and maybe comedy, if you enjoy any of those you should give it a chance.

Oh, this so isn't so, i basically have a rating system that takes a few things into consideration and every once in a while i add to it, this causes me to re-score my whole list, so changing my ratings is something that happens quite often.

Sure. Any recommendations then? I see Clannad is your favorite SOL. Perhaps I should give that a try?
I'm also going to give Kingdom a watch after this Code Geass run.

Btw, you're like 79.9% compatible with my list. Tongue

Yeah, give Clannad a go, you might want to be patient with the 1st season, the 2nd season is where shit really went down. Some others are Uchu Kyodai, Colorful (Movie) and AnoHana. Kingdom has alot of badly rendered CGI, if you can however ignore this, it'll be a great watch, the 2nd season has a bigger budget so there is hardly any CGI at all. Our compatibility is mostly due to your short list, the system just looks at the scores of our shared anime (only 17) and does the calculation from there, the more you watch the smaller that number will become.

I only watched like two episodes of each (Death Note and Code Geass). The protagonist (Is he one? I mean he kills people, basically) came off as too arrogant to me. My sister and I found Code Geass amusing, only because it seemed, to be frank, ridiculous. It's not like we watched them from the beginning; it just happened to be on Adult Swim or sth one night. But if a few random episodes turn your off, that's probably a warning sign.

On a side note, reading One-Punch Man. It's awesome Big Grin
The worst anime Sword Art Online 2 is coming under a different name.
