Usually it's not that they're trying to peddle products onto you (sometimes they are). Usually it's that they genuinely have no idea what you're asking them and choose to make an answer up since they have no idea what they're talking about.

I promise you that best buy employee had no idea what dedicated memory and shared memory mean. They're not engineers or programmers. They're just average citizens working part time in retail.

It was a joke in reference to the the thread's title (and off-topic).

@Inothernews1 - This is generally why I prefer to buy things electronics online. There's no need to limit yourself to the knowledge of the store's employees (plus you can take your sweet time before buying anything). It may very well be too late to change your purchase, but you have bought yourself a valuable lesson. If you're planning on buying hardware, always do some research. Obviously, for GC/Wii emulation on Dolphin, that means coming here to us if you need recommendations. At the very least, 3.5 is working for you.

Well, this computer is good for gaming and emulation was a little of a side thing so...
