2500k 5.3GHz = 3570k 5.0ghz = 4670k 4.5Ghz

The 4670k is about 10% faster according to the wind waker cpu benchmark.
You've lost me a little, non of those processors have over 4.5Ghz. The 4670k is listed as 3.4Ghz, where as the 3570k is listed as 3.8Ghz Turbo. Or am I missing something.
@DatKid20 I think you should check the benchmark again . i5 4670k @ 4.5GHz is clearly faster than i5 2500k @ 5.3GHz
i7 4770k @ 4.2GHz is also faster than i5 2500k @ 5.3GHz
i7 4770k and i5 4670k have the same performance in Dolphin . As you can see in the benchmark , i5 4670k @ 4.5GHz is faster than i7 4770k @ 4.2GHz
So I say 2500k 5.3GHz = 3570k 5.0ghz = 4670k 4.0->4.2GHz

@JT! Have you ever heard about overclocking

I only checked save 3. Tongue
Yeah, although I've never overclocked a processor in my life. I get that to over clock you have to upgrade your cooling system. But that's about the limit of my knowledge.

What kind of modifications has to be done to run a processor at those kind of speeds? Ideally I don't want to be going too crazy with overclocking if avoidable.

Also, isn't using an overcloked processor in a benchmark test testing the systems cooling more than the actual processor?
@DatKid20

Broadwell got cancelled. Skylake is the next upgrade now and that's in 2015 (and will no doubt use a new socket).

No. The 4670K is basically a newer and better version of the 3570K based on the new haswell microarchitecture. Dolphin is likely doing a lot of SSE ops that benefit from haswells wider pipeline.

Edit: Should have refreshed the thread before responding.

Nope. It's 30% faster in save 1.

2500K 5.0 GHz = 3570K 5.0 GHz = 4670K 3.8 GHz in dolphin.
Ok thanks, 4670k it is.

So intel is pulling a lga 1156. Dodgy
JT! Wrote:What kind of modifications has to be done to run a processor at those kind of speeds?

You have to make sure that your motherboard supports it, your cpu supports it, you have a powerful enough power supply, and a powerful enough cooling unit. That's it.

@DatKid20

What do you mean by that?

Isn't it the same ? i5 4670k @ 4.5 and i7 4770k @ 4.2GHz are still faster than i5 3570k and i5 4670k @ 4.5GHz is faster than i7 4770k @ 4.2GHz
