I don't think I said at any point I'm actually looking for a new display.I was just curious what you'd suggest at that price point to replace my tv. You've actually convinced me to stick with my current monitor and upgrade sound first seeing as though the tv isn't so bad.

Thanks for the links! For now I'll stick to my current setup and let the hole that my 2 weeks of spending has left in my back account build back up then I'll look into a sound card etc.

Wow, the cpu heatsink came today, there's no way this is going to fit, it's massive!

So... how much thermal paste do I put on this thing? I've been watching youtube videos and some people say the size of a pea, some say the size of a lentil/ grain of rice.

Vertical offers better air flow over the ram and exhausts into an exhaust fan.

Horizontal sends air upwards the way it should go and out the top, but would be drawing air from the graphicscard when I get one.

Putting a fan in the top wouldn't be an issue if it was needed.

Any suggestions on which way is better? Seems like they both block the first ram slot which isn't an issue really.
