It looks like the PSU is pulling air in from the top not the bottom. If that's the case it's not going to do jack shit.
You sure the PSU isn't upside down? XD

Yeah that's why I'm asking. It's either going to take air from the inside, or try to take air in from the bottom vent which looks pretty blocked up when it's on the carpet.

Which is better, warmer internal air, or restricted outside air.
I really doubt it's going to make a big difference. Go by whatever the manual for the case recommends.
Sooooo I finally bought the PSU and the motherboard, so apart from the graphics card I believe I'm all set.

My question is, is there anything else I need to have to build the thing. The only thing I had is some thermal paste that isn't a substantial part.

Anything else? Feel like I'm missing something.
I feel the need to chime in here before you build this and components start failing - don't mount the psu to draw air from the bottom vent as from the look of it it won't get any. Your carpet looks pretty deep and the feet look completely sunk in to it, or if they're not then they will be once the case is filled with heavy components. Mounting the psu 'upside down' is fine. Common sense here people.
You could place the PC on something like a side-table or even a flat strip of wood on the floor which would allow you to mount the psu in the 'correct' position (drawing air from outside the case), but either way you need to ensure that the psu recieves air.
@JT!

I'm far too lazy to read through a 10 page thread to see what you have.

So here's a handy list of things you need:
Things that you absolutely cannot have a functioning computer without:
1. Motherboard
2. CPU (can be a standalone component or integrated into the motherboard)
3. GPU (can be a standalone component or integrated into the cpu, the motherboard, or both)
4. Some type of cooling depending on what type of cpu/gpu you have. Can be standalone or integrated into the motherboard.
5. A power supply that provides all necessary connections, a stable and correct voltage, and enough current. Always standalone.
6. RAM. Always standalone.

Things that logically most PCs should have but are technically not required:
1. HDD or SSD
2. Chassis (case)

Things that a good PC should have:
1. Decent aftermarket cooling
2. Decent aftermarket thermal paste
3. A decent graphics card

Things that an enthusiast PC could have (now with humor because I became bored while writing this):
1. Audio card to get those electrons to learn their place.
2. Network card. Because you'll somehow notice a 5ms difference in ping.
3. TV Tuner Card. The good ones literally cost as much as a low end TV.
4. Open loop liquid cooling systems. They would use liquid nitrogen but it's not sustainable.
5. Bigass fulltower chassis with advanced cable management and other shit. If your knees don't hurt from picking it up it's not good enough.
6. Epeen level PSU sufficient to power a small particle accelerator. Because if it's wrong to use more power than the rest of my neighborhood combined I don't want to be right.
7. Multiple high end graphics cards to render photo realistic 3D hentai.
8. Multiple high capacity SSD/HDD in a RAID array. Because I need to open chrome in 0.001 seconds not 0.01 seconds god damnit.
9. A RAID card for number 8.
10. High end motherboards made out of solid Chinese tears.
11. 32GB+ of DDR3 2600MHz+ RAM. Because you never know when you'll need to render a scale model of Manhattan with photo realistic details.
12. A CPU that costs almost as much as a used car. Because we all know you're a professional that needs to do batch runs on photoshop 24/7. Right? Right?!?!
13. CIR (consumer infrared) module. Because fuck leaning over to hit the power button.
14. I'm running low on ideas, I think I'll stop here.....

Things people once cared about:
1. Floppy Drive
2. Zip Drive
3. Optical Drive/Burner (CD/DVD/BD)
4. SD Card reader

Peripherals:
1. Monitor. Can't come up with a good one for this one.
2. Mouse. If it doesn't have as many buttons as your keyboard and look like it was forged from obsidian you're a cheap pleb.
3. Keyboard. Upgrade to mechanical if you want it to survive a nuclear holocaust. Topre if you want it to survive the earth being swallowed by the sun.
4. Webcam so people can watch your blank expression as you stare at the empty void of your monitor while you talk to them or stream video games on twitch.
5. Printer for on the go porn.
6. Gamepad to support devs that are too lazy to add proper KB + M support to their PC releases.
7. Bluetooth adapter for your 1 or 2 bluetooth devices.
8. Wifi adapter because you don't like putting holes through your walls to run cables.
9. Flash drive. Because you're willing to sacrifice the much better price per GB of an external HDD for a slightly smaller device.
10. External HDD. Because you're too cheap to use solid state storage
11. A joystick. For the one game you have that uses it.
12. A USB hub. Because you're probably running out of USB ports by now.
13. I'm running low on ideas, I think I'll stop here.....
That post... just damn.
On Topic
Go with turingpest about the psu. It's just common sense for it to get air. Either that or buy some feet for your case so it stands a few inches off the floor then let your psu draw air from the bottom.

Yeah this is exactly what I was thinking. The bottom vent also has a dust filter also which'll restrict air even more... I'm going to mount it as in the picture.

LMAO, wow.

I think I'm all set. I don't not have an internal HDD, but my primary drive will be a 256gb SSD, and I'll just use my old laptops external HDD for now untill I get one.

On board graphics on the cpu seem pretty good so they'll do for now until I feel like I need to upgrade.

I've got quite a collection of misc peripherals. Xbox360 controller, two usb N64 controllers. Webcam, 2.1 speakers. External bluray DVD writer player. No joystick though. Sad

I assume that you've already bought everything on that list?
