Hey everyone, was wondering if I could get some guidance on getting dolphin setup. I just installed it on my 2011 MacBook Pro, mainly to play GameCube games. I am wanting to set things up so that I can use my Wiimote and/or the Classic Controller attachment that I have for it. So far I have tried applications like Wjoy and others that map controller button presses to keyboard clicks, but then when I fire up a game in the emulator it doesn't seem to work while the emulator is running. I know that the controller is connected to the computer via Bluetooth and working because Darwiin Remote has a virtual image showing when you press buttons. Anyways, long story short, I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out how to setup the classic controller to play Gamecube games like Wind Waker, OoC, and TwPrin. Thanks!

You can't.
GC games need a GC pad. Even Wii version of Zelda TP can't be played with Classic Controller.
Get any gamepad and configure it as a GC pad

I am able to play the game using my keyboard though correct? If that's true, then why couldn't I theoretically use an app like DarwiinRemote to map the Wii button clicks to keyboard keys and then use those to play? Not questioning your knowledge, just wondering why that wouldn't work...
He meant through Dolphin. But yeah that would work.

Edit - Could work, I meant.

Haha okay thanks! But for some reason I've set it up that way and for some reason it wont recognize when I use the controller. For example I can use the d-pad on the classic controller to navigate back and forth on the safari URL bar, since that's what I mapped it to do, but when I go to try that in Dolphin, it doesn't do anything. But I can still use the keyboard on my mac to play and navigate the game, any idea why this is happening?
No sorry. Maybe try a different mapping program like Xpadder.

If you want to play GameCube games and you can spare $20, I recommend getting the Logitech Gamepad F310 off of Amazon. I use it and Dolphin recognizes it. It has a really good d pad, best I've ever used, in fact.

That's my only suggestion if you want to play GameCube games with a controller. Smile

Alright, will do, thanks a bunch for your help!
(for those wondering/have a similar situation as me, I'll try and post again if I've gotten anything to work)
As the only other guy here who's used WJoy, I can tell you that you do NOT need another controller. WJoy exposes the Wii Remote and any extensions to OS X as a normal HID joystick/gamepad. You're just not setting it up right, is all.

Connect the remote to WJoy, but skip the part where you use another app to map it to keyboard keys – instead, go to Dolphin's GCPad options, select the Wii Remote in the Devices dropdown, then map it as you'd like (e.g. click a button in that window, then press the corresponding button on the controller).

thanks for your reply! I haven't had time to try this out yet, but will it let me use the joysticks on the classic controller accessory?
Yup, and they won't be all wonky and only work in eight directions like you'd get with those keyboard-mapping apps.
