to start out want to point out i am currently using Dolphin 3.5 x64 (was told its the latest "Stable" version)

recently i have purchased a "official" wiimote from amazon here's the link:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0045FCKVI/ref=oh_o00_s00_i02_details

i got a bluetooth dongle but when it came to syncing it with the dolphin here's the problem that occurs:

i press "pair up" and it tells me that the hardware was installed successfully, AND it tells me its connected in the dolphin, so when i hit refresh I'm expecting it to vibrate and the 4 blinking lights to stop and have the 1st blue light remain on. however this does not happen. the lights just continually blink over and over and over.

so i asked my brother if i could borrow his wiimote, his is official too but an older model and when i tried to connect his to the dolphin it worked flawlessly.

seeing this i came to the conclusion that my Bluetooth is working fine, the Microsoft Bluetooth manager is working just fine.. the only conclusion i can come up with is that its the dolphin not seeing the newer models.

so now that i got the explanation of my problem out there which 100000000 other people are having the same problem and the response i keep reading over and over is get a new Bluetooth, but mine is obviously working, so that's not the answer.

so what i wanted to ask does anyone know a workaround for this? is there a configuration file that needs to be changed? is there a different version out there that does recognize newer wiimotion plus models?

i like the fact that i don't have to take off the battery panel to sync the controller so if there is a way to fix this without having to revert to an older model i would appreciate any feedback

thanks
Your new Wiimote probably is a Nintendo RVL-CNT-01-TR model, right now, these models works only with Toshiba Bluetooth stack...

DuFF_BeeR

so what you're saying is newer versions of dolphin will eventually work with TR model using windows Bluetooth manager?
Toshiba Bluetooth manager and not Windows (Microsoft)

DuFF_BeeR

what i meant was.. are they working on fixing this so people don't have to go buy a Toshiba Bluetooth.. the one i have works beautifully. syncs 4 wiimotes simultaneously with no issues.
You don't need to buy Toshiba hardware, only the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Software (that works with other BT dongles too)... The default Microsoft Stack (the BT software that come preinstalled in Windows) right now can't connect properly with the newer TR models...

Please note that you may need to edit the .inf file from Toshiba Stack recognise your non-Toshiba dongle, and you may also need the patched TosBtChk.dll file to get rid of the trial limitation that the software has if being used with non-Toshiba hardware...

I don't find this as a problem as long as we don't provide the file Rolleyes
