On second thought I might get the 770 see how that goes then I will try the 7970 if I do not like the performance. If anyone has a 770 or a 7970 please tell me if they work well on the games I have listed and the settings you use.

im not sure about dolphin, but in graphically demanding pc games, the gtx770 is slightly better then then 7970 ghz (even in games optimized for amd cards).
The gtx770 has decent overclocking headroom aswell. But im not sure on the max 7970ghz OC vs the max gtx770 OC results.
Even if the 7970 ghz overclocks better, it will only like tie or be 1-2 fps better i would imagine. its not worth extra $50+ cost of the 7970 over the 770....

IF you can get a decent 7970ghz (like the asus dc2, or msi lightning) for like $400, then it may be like a decision worth thinking over. But some really cheap 7970 which probably overheats at stock clocks for $50 more? i dont think so...
Both of those GPUs will be more than enough
