Alright so I am planning to build a pc that can do gaming and dolphin and I will also be editing videos with Sony vegas pro 12 I have not bought the parts yet so if I should change anything let me know. I still do not know which GPU I should go with.
Specs
Case: Fractal Design Define R4
Motherboard: GA-Z87X-UD4H
CPU: i5 4670k
OS: windows 7 professional
CPU cooler: Corsair h80i
Hard Drive: WD Black 1TB 7,200RPM
GPU: to be determined (GTX 770 or AMD 7970 ghz edition)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
Power Supply: Enthusiast Series TX750M
The games I do plan on playing are
Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2
Zelda windwaker, skyward sword, twilight princess
Star fox assault and adventures
New super Mario bros
Mario kart wii and double dash
Mario party 6 & 7
I plan on playing at 4x native resolution with some AA.
I also have read something about LLE needed for a few games to work properly hopefully my CPU might handle it
Yes.
There are literally a million threads about this. 4670k is considered the best CPU for dolphin alongside with 4770k.
Some games will require a slight over clock tho.
My old i5-2500k can play The Last Story, which is perhaps considered the most demanding game for Wii.
Dolphin is ot that GPU hungry, and so far in DX11 mode i can run everything with 4xIR and 8xAA (Not SSAA!!).
I use an GTX660 overclocked to 1184MHz boost.
Which GPU shall I get? The gtx 770 or the 7970 ghz edition
Those are both nasty cards. The 7970 is a little more powerful for not a lot more money, as tends to be the case with AMD GPUs. I personally prefer Nvidia's driver software/interfaces, but that AMD is going to outperform the Nvidia. Comparing the EVGA 770 with the Sapphire 7970 on Newegg, there seems to be a little higher incidence of DOA with the 7970. Of course, there are three times as many feedbacks for that card, so that must be considered as well. The EVGA carries a 3 year warranty vs 2 years for the Sapphire 7970. Your board supports both CrossFireX and SLI, so you could go either way really.

I heard nvidia cards are better for dolphin than AMD is that false or true?
In dolphin you won't notice any difference at all between the two. As far as performance is concerned we have no idea.

I have not heard that before, but I'd imagine it is false. Performance in Dolphin is more likely to do with the number and performance of your shader units, not the brand of GPU design or the drivers they provide.
If there is no difference at all I might just get the 7970 for its openCL so I can render videos faster
Get 7970 and make reports of your performances

Alright and if I do not like it I can always return it so shouldn't be a big deal
