Are we going to do this all day?

Apparently
This is why you proofread. The sentence didn't make any sense so I asked for clarification. Replace "cpus" with "microprocessors" and it works.

@AON3

I'm pretty sure he knows that. He just made a typo.
Just making sure.
Well all my parts have gotten here. I'm going to try to not have anxiety attacks of ESD, I live in AZ were it's dry and hot as hell, and I am in a carpeted room, and I'm not going to buy an ESD strap. I've thought of doing it outside with my feet buried in the ground (just kidding, but it might be a good idea, maybe.)
(I accidentally touched one of the PCI-E pins on my GTX 660, should I be worried?) (no shock and I grounded myself while I was holding it) (it was connected to nothing)

The only thing I'm waiting for is my case, which is taking forever, it's the only thing that hasn't gotten here yet, (god damn July 4th and weekend). So I hope it gets here soon, cause when it does, I'm going to start testing, I want to do that windmaker test, because the guy who was on there had his 8350 at stock clocks.

The 8150 OC in the test scored higher than the 8350 stock, and the 8350 is around 15% faster in performance in about every aspect when both are stock. So if I were to overclock, I think it's going to give a good benchmark.
I think I can get around to the i5-3570k stock benchmark score Tongue maybe higher, I'm excited.

Also if I leave my volts stock, acheive 4.5ghz OC stable with my cpu temp below 60% at full load, everything is safe from then on right?

No. The chances of you destroying something that way are slim to none even if you took no precautions. And you did take precautions.

Check your stability via stress testing. Use a voltage low enough to not cause long term damage. And check your temperatures by running temperature monitoring software while you're stress testing. If everything checks out then yes.
Yeah, I'm going to follow the instructions of this:

Yeah, so basically I have to make sure that after a long stress test that my cores won't quit on me, that way even in the most demanding games I wont BSOD.
I'm hoping my Hyper 212+ can take me to 4.5ghz while staying under 60c, many consider going over that harmful. That guy got to 4.4ghz before having to switch from stock volts.
Keep it under 70C and you'll be fine. And games aren't going to be enough to ensure that it will never throw an error. You need to run a torture test for multiple hours at the minimum.

Yeah, that's what I'm going to do. I think the program is called Prime95, I'm going to use that alongside Speedfan to make sure all my cores are active, if they are not it means one/or more failed.
I think 60c at load is going to be my goal.
Speedfan will work but it's a bit outdated. HWiNFO64 is a good alternative monitoring software. If a core "fails" either the program will throw an error or the OS will (including possibly a BSOD).

60c is a bit of an extreme goal in my opinion but whatever floats your boat.

I actually don't even know what 60c feels like to be honest. Ok just google converted it, it's 140 degrees, so that's about a really hot day outside where I'm from, you are right that is a bit extreme. How long will a CPU last at 70c if it's only used for say 2 hours a day avg.

I'll download that program then, thank you.

Edit: Okay I looked into it, turns out what I meant to say is that I don't want to go above 60c on my core temperature. I think the max for my CPU is around 80c; as in it shuts off. Apparently everyone on this forum is saying that AMD said to never go above 62c and that anything above would damage the chip, just not sure if they mean the socket or the cores.

I've seen this many times on multiple credible sites: "The max recommended temperature for AMD FX processors is 62C." I think intels can take more heat than AMD.
