Off topic, I actually considered getting a surface pro 2 as my main tablet just to have a "mobile" version of dolphin.

The FPS actually isn't that bad in some levels. I think it was Ricco Harbour shine 2 where I had to go into a cave and inside the cave was ~15FPS compared to ~7FPS in Delfino Plaza. Super Mario Sunshine is a 30FPS game, so the cave is ~50% speed and Delfino Plaza is ~25% speed. And also considering that my phone isn't a high end phone, that's pretty impressive.

here's a tip depending on the game are playing changing the efb copy method to ram(uncached/cached) gives higher fps expecially in menus, I get around 35-45 fps in the smash bros melee menus/select a character, and 23-35 in game fighting against one cpu(the longer you play the hotter the phone so performance drops) I can manage around 40 mins game time before I let my device cool down

I have mine set to texture because it is the default for the desktop version and it looks a lot better than none. RAM is supposed to only be used when needed as it has a big slowdown compared to texture. For me, it does bring a slowdown. I don't know why it would be different for you, but whatever works best for you. My games don't slow down when my phone heats up, I have a custom kernel with a custom thermal manager Wink

well I used to have a custom kernel but the one I used has not been entirely stabilized for kitkat(used to be on jb), as soon as it's stable again I will be able to oc my g2 and control heat better

I wish I could OC for better Dolphin performance... currently my phone has no working OC methods that actually boost performance lol

Yeah, that was merged this morning. The L and R button fix should come soon as well, along with more controller fixes by Sonicadvance1 (who pretty much completely revamped my entire LR fix Smile) Just an FYI, in case you were using my build that I posted on another thread, since then I have fixed a bug where sliding off of a button after touching it still presses the button. If you were ever using that build it would be better to switch back to the buildbot builds as they have the fix Wink (even though moving back to the buildbot builds would be better anyways lol)

(04-01-2014, 09:42 AM)SeannyM Wrote: [ -> ]Just thought this was interesting. I knew about it for a while, but remembered about it recently. Wii games seem to have terrible graphics with OpenGL. Most of the graphics are black. I have only tested with NSMB because I can't think of another game that will show 3D graphics without pressing any buttons. I would like to try with software renderer to see how it is, but that would take forever. If I do waste my time and load it up, I will post the image here too. I assume it should be okay with software renderer though.

God, that took forever. But it is as I thought; everything renders correctly. (except the colors are washed for some reason)

Just curious which build did you use. I just assumed wii games wern't working at all yet.

Hey it not playable but thats the first screenshot ive seen of any wii emulation on android, so congratulations for thinking outside of the box.

I've just tried it in my G2 and I its been 5 min and I've not seen a single frame yet lol.. How long did it take? Did you use a dolphin compressed iso ie a .gcz file or the full uncompressed iso?

It is true that there are no videos/screenshots of Wii emulation, but Wii games have worked for a while and I always knew they did. I guess people just assumed they didn't work. They don't work with JIT, only JITIL which kind of sucks. It is a known issue, I reported it and it was accepted. I had NSMB Wii running at ~2FPS with JITIL. Once Wii games work with JIT they will be a lot faster. BTW, I used a WBFS file.

I don't know how big the WBFS file but the full ISO compressed weith the desktop version of Dolphin comes out at just 370MB :-)

Once I selected JITL and used the game save data from the desktop version I could get to the same position as you, with the same results. However as stated it did take forever especially with the software rendering. Thanks for the heads up anyway it was quite a novelty to see some wii screens on the phone :-)

I made a quick screen recording

Check this out Wink Using a quick hack in the code, I got Wii games working on JIT Smile I had ~50 FPS during wiimote screen (FPS went down when I took screenshot) and ~8FPS at title screen. Hopefully I can get a real fix into the official code soon. Just thought I'd share Smile

Well you still won't be able to play any Wii games that require a wiimote but I would be interested in using this to try ssbb(I would even check out project m although I know it will suffer there), If you want any one to test out any builds I'd like to try

There's still not much point because there is no way at all to send Wii inputs as of now; I was maybe going to try to implement them if I had time.

Edit: If you want to try Wii with JIT, the patch was merged. Download the latest buildbot build and give it a whirl.
(Offtopic)

Didn't want to make a new thread for this, so just decided to post here lol. I changed Dolphin mobile's theme a bit, I want to know what you guys think Wink https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3h6rM2MYxo
Seems the Android build is broken again, just tried 1688 and it crashes when trying to access the input or video menu.

That's an easier fix. Those are java UI errors ( I'm assuming the frontend interface is coded in java).

Try deleting the dolphin-emu folder (backup saves first if you need to) and try again. When post-processing shaders were added to the mobile version that's what I did to fix the crash.
