Hey there!

I've been trying to connect with my friend's computer over netplay to play mario kart DD together, but we keep getting a "Connection Failed" when we try to connect to either one of our computers. We have:

- Same Dolphin version (latest)
- same game iso
- same 2626 port
- computer IPs were entered correctly (found by typing in google "what's my ip address")
- both our firewalls are turned off
- same graphic and config settings (no dual core or DSP HLE)
- two controllers selected

He's using a Mac with Snow Leopard, I'm using Lion. Any ideas why this might not be working? Thanks!

Whether it works properly or not, it's likely that neither of you are gonna be able to run the game at full speed with the settings required for netplay. v_v

If you've followed the guide properly, you *should* be fine. Give it a reread or two. http://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?ti...play_Guide (Also heed the warning at the top of the page.)

I doubt it wil run too slow for us to play; my friends mac is super fast.

Well thanks for the tip. Appreciate it.
Protip: just because you and him think it's fast doesn't mean it is. There are a handful of games that require an overclocked medium-to-high-end desktop CPU (e.g. an i5-4670K at 4.2 GHz), and certain settings (like LLE + single-core + no LLE on Thread) can make *any* game require that.

Seriously, your MacBook isn't gonna be fast enough to run the game at full speed *with* dual-core + HLE audio. I can tell, my MacBook Air can't, and it's slightly faster than yours.
If either one of you is behind a router, you'll need to use port forwarding. Disabling the firewall isn't enough.

Have a look-see at this site: http://portforward.com/

Thanks, will do
im having the same issue here and it doesn't make sense, me and my buddy have the same build of dolphin (4.0-652) settings, isos all that jazz and when he rights down my ip address and the port it fails to connect? but for some reason when we use an earlier build of dolphin (3.5-339) it works like a charm only thing is the desync issue because 3.5-339 doesn't support dual core enabled netplay. i've also noticed that using logmeinhmachi with 4.0-652 allows us to connect but id rather use the I.D. feature implemented. anyways thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out
