I have never seen so much hate for a console which is not even out yet.
But I have to say I agree with the most complaints. I mean it won't even work in more then 21 countries on launch. Even if you imported, you won't be able play any games on it, AFAIK. Not to mention even if you live in supported countries, you still will have to check in online every 24 hours or console simply will not play any games, even singeplayer ones.
Then there is used game issues, lots of restrictions there too.
Not too mention you can't disable Kinect.
What do you think about it, is microsoft making a smart move here, looking into the future, or shooting themselves in the foot ?

Let's wait for XBox One and PS4 launches and I guess we'll quickly get the answer Big Grin
The XBox One needs to do a One Eighty. Apparently, the worst of my fears have been put to rest. I may very well get an XBox One after its lifetime is over, since the online requirements will be null and void, the price will be down (it better go down by then), and all the games I'd want well have been released. They're basically asked me to not buy at all, or buy it later.
I'm not getting one, at least not for a couple of years. I was considering it for the purpose of HALO 5 and 6, but it really isn't worth the money, and if it needs to connect to the internet regularly, then there's a problem, as my XBox 360 is usually left unplugged, as I can just drop 3 wires into it, and it'll work on either of the two potential screens I have. However, it does solve the problem of not using it for months, and then having to update everything. I'd be fine with 24 hourly internet connection to automatically download updates, but if games are crippled without it, then there's a problem.

Also, I'd never use kinect, so don't take kindly to being forced to pay for it for just HALO, and the 2 games my brothers would use.
I'm pretty much out of consoles altogether these days, but if I were to get something, it'd definitely be the PS4.
My answer is simple, you couldn't give me a xbox one for free(since i wouldn't be able to sell it most likely either), let alone expect me to buy one.

Ps4 and wii-u this gen for me.
I see sentiment is the same wherever you ask Smile It seems Microsoft really screwed up this time when it comes to the game consoles...
The XBox One emulator will not require an always online connection.

It's not accurate then Undecided
@rpglord

This has been discussed a lot in some of the other threads in this subforum, especially the random thread. The consensus on this topic is so universal I don't even think the question is worth asking anymore at this point. I have yet to meet a single person who plays video games either in rl or online that wants this thing. And just look at the preorder sales for the ps4! I'm not saying it's impossible for Microsoft to turn this around at this point but it's going to take nothing short of a miracle to do it.

Yeah jokes aside I can think of a few of our devs who would probably remove such a feature for the sake of accuracy.
