As the title says, will my new MSI GE-40 be enough for dolphin?

Specs are in my sig.

Thanks!!
Depending on the games
Demanding games require i5 3570k @ 4.5GHz or even higher
At this point i can say no laptop is good enough for Dolphin atm (unless you're willing to buy 3000$ gaming laptop with extreme edition CPU that can be overclocked )
So list the games you want to play

Well here's short a list of games that I would like to play:

*Monster Hunter Tri
*Sin Punishment: Star Successor
*Red Steel 2
*Dead Space Extraction

and isn't the gpu a key factor too?

Only if you want to run at high resolutions. Even then, you don't need much.

Not at all.
Oh so are you saying that a quite crappy gpu can play my listed games? Huh

This is quite interesting.. Wink

EDIT: I missed your edited post.

And so, Is my Processor enough for the games I listed? Smile Thanks!

CPU power is more important than GPU . Dolphin is a dual core / CPU dependent application
GPU won't matter unless your GPU is too weak
For Example :
If i had 3 laptops :
Laptop 1 : i5 3210M + Intel HD 4000
Laptop 2 : i5 3210M + Nvidia GT 730M
Laptop 3 : i5 3210M + Nvidia GT 750M
3 laptops run Super Mario Galaxy (a very demanding game) with Framelimit disabled and lowest graphic settings
Results (Approximately) :
Laptop 1 : 30FPS (due to GPU bottleneck , GPU slowdown CPU)
Laptop 2 : 40FPS
Laptop 3 : 40FPS

The GT 730M can handle 2->2.5x Internal Resolution (Click here for more info) , no AA , 16x AF while GT 750M can handle 3->4x Internal Resolution , no AA , 16xAF
Dolphin FAQ Wrote:Generally, the better your processor is, the better your overall performance will be. Having a good video card is important for maintaining good speed with high graphic settings.

1) Fullspeed
2) Don't know how it performs with latest Dolphin version , expect fullspeed or near fullspeed
3) Won't run fullspeed , may be slow
4) May be too slow to play

Wow, thanks for spending time in replying to my quite boring thread! Big Grin

3) Won't run fullspeed , may be slow
3) May be too slow to play"

Are you referring to my specs?

Sorry for the edit. Yeah, basically the IGP on most recent cpus will be sufficient to run probably any game at 1x IR. If you want to go higher, you'll want a real video card, but a cheaper one should handle 3-4x IR just fine.
