Incoming ban.
The game works just fine, the only problem is that I have a black face instead of character's face, that happens only to players.

MKW crashes on startup whenever I try to use Direct3D 9, it runs in OpenGL but ofcourse way too slow to play. Looked all over the internet and surprisingly couldn't find anyone who had the same problem of it crashing in Direct3D 9 but working in OpenGL. Also when it crashes it says that DEP closed it, but I disable that, restart the system and it still crashes so it's not the DEP that is causing it. Any ideas? DirectX is up to date.

Which revision did you use? Try with 3.0 (not 3.0-XXX) and post your specs & settings too

Hmm ok. I'm running 3.0-200 right now. I'll try 3.0..

Intel Core 2 CPU 2.13GHz
2.00GB RAM
256mb Nvidia GeForce 7600 GT Graphics Card
32-bit
I think that's all you need to know right?
It's a good few years old now, but if Direct3D works in other games theres no reason why it should be crashing in this one I figure

Also I'm quite new to Dolphin, what files should I be backing up if downloading a different version? Is it just the User/Wii and User/GC files?

I saw some games that could run ONLY with OpenGl... But for Mario Kart that should work. Your savefiles have to be "transfered" yes. The files for LLE if you use it too

I Upgraded from version 7639 to 7719 and newest version is freakin slow compare to oldest version (D11/9 or open GL), and it sometimes crash with strange warnins (OpenGL).
Work perfectly with 7639 (with openGL), unlocked everythin fine...

The warnins:
1-
BackPatch - no support for operand size 2
Error encounterd accessing emulated address 50430018
Culpit instruction:
mov word ptr ds:[rbx+rdx], cx
at 0x148d8ada

2-
BackPatch : currently only supporting reads.
Attempt to write to 50430018

3-
Backpatch write - not enouth EAX

this same thing is happening to me running under dx10
what is the best emulator for this game? dophin 3.0 r201 or dophin 2.0 rxxxx?
It works fine with Dolphin 3.0 (the official release not 3.0-XXX)
