With your system I'm afraid you probably wouldn't notice the speed improvement.
It was more of an optimisation that prevented slowdown, than anything.
true......... i really need to upgrade!
my experience with this game is to disable frame limiter and enable vsync. the vps shows like 300% for me while actual game speed and fps remain at 60...

observe how i have less than 60 fps but my game is actually running at the correct speed. this is the only way i can get mario kart to run correctly... and it runs perfect without any slowdowns or jerkiness or any hitches at all.

the only problem is ... for some unknown reason i have only got this to work in one version of the emu. in all the others, the vsync does something weird and makes my vps really slow.

Also, I dodged a blue shell, I screen-captured the replay and made an awesome GIF. Cool

Heh, pretty lucky one with that mushroom ;P
I managed to dodge a blue shell myself too, but only once so far :/

You're still using r5739, if you update to at least r5777, Mario Kart should play perfectly without "disable frame limiter"

i have tried it. single player is playable in newer revisions however, when i play multiple players i still get the major slow downs. btw, using a quad-core phenom and 2x 5770 cards. but.... the slow downs arent as prevalent in the new revisions. that is why i really wish this would work in the new revs.

did you see my screenshot? see how my fps is one number but the vps is another. neway... it took me like forever to get that game to run so smooth with multiple players. i wish i could get the vps info to display on the actual render part of the emu. i can take fraps videos, if you're interested, so you can see what im talking about. my games run perfectly at the speed they're supposed to even tho the game speed may say up to 500% sometimes on the bottom.

i dont really know what vps really is, or why it is capped by vsync in most revisions, or how having the vps uncapped makes the games run so smooth.
but i cannot upgrade to a newer version until i can click vsync and see my fps at 60 and vps >60
I don't really understand what problem you're having, I can run Splitscreen full speed on r5791.

Maybe you just need to configure Dolphin properly or something?

first of all.. it looks like ur missing the map. secondly; i can achieve 100% speed in 2 player with frame limiter on; but not all the time. there will be random hangs. and it always hangs at the very beginning during the countdown. when i have frame limiter and vysnc off, i can run the game at like 400% speed with no problem... regardless of settings, my fps will drop below 60 sometime. under normal circumstances, this would cause my game speed to drop accordingly. well.. the way it is setup now, my frames can drop but the actual game speed remains at a perfect 100%. verifiable in my screenshot.
