The problem is the money. I could now buy an i5 and i think in 3 months a new and good gpu.
Or i will save some money and buy a cheaper amd cpu and an new gpu.
Should be better to buy the i5 and wait for the gpu ?
Buy the I5 and use your current gpu until you can get funds for a new one.
Hey guys
I'd like to play Zelda: Wind Waker & Twilight Princess (GC) @ 720p, or at least at native res. without slowdowns. Would this be possible with the following specs:
AMD Athlon II X2 215 @ 2,7 Ghz
AMD Radeon HD 6450 1024 MB
If not, would upgrading to these make any significant difference:
AMD Athlon II X2 255 @ 3,1 Ghz
ATI Radeon HD 5570 1024
thanks in advance!
Miles
You could play native, but not much more.

thanks for the quick reply. Is this mainly due to the CPU(s) being too slow?...or the graphics card(s) ?

Your CPU is too slow
But GC games will work
The graphics card. Resolution and Anti-aliasing are based solely on graphics. Your CPU should handle Wind Waker and Twilight Princess fine, but keep in mind Hyrule field will be very slow (10 fps).
EDIT: Once you get the games working, start at native resolution and increase Internal Resolution and Anti-aliasing to your liking and fullspeed.
ok..thanks for the input. I'm only interested in playing two games (WW & TP) so I can't justify spending a lot of money. I'll go with this setup and try to overclock the hell out of it:
AMD Athlon II X2 215
ATI Radeon HD 5570 1024
I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions here.. I would only play WiiWare games; would this setup be good enough to get 60 fps all the time? And I'd also play only at native.
Intel Core i3-2100, 2 x 3.1GHz
Sapphire Ultimate Radeon HD 6670, 1GB
4GB RAM
Windows 7
Also it would be nice if someone could suggest a good motherboard.. And is that Sapphire Ultimate Radeon HD 6670 any good? At least it's quiet..

Yes

and then some (but not much [probably 720p]).
