Higher clock speed better performance ,i5 680 3.6Ghz sure beat i5 760 2.8Ghz away
Note : dolphin not support quadcore ,you waste money for that
Well hackintosh's not bad... I'm half brainwashed and sometimes think about Windows.
edit: admin89, thanks. Good to hear that.

Yes. As long as you use the right revision (stay the hell away from recent revisions and make sure to use an sse4.1 enhanced revision) along with the right settings you could actually get fullspeed most of the time with occasional drops into the 50s (fps). I'm using an SSE3 enhanced version of 6331 for SMG2 on my Q6600 OCed to 3.2GHz and I'm getting 50-60fps in most places with occasional drops into the 40s. The lowest it's ever gotten so far is 40 fps (their are some levels that run in the lower 40s for me). You could expect to be getting speeds about 30% higher than mine (% of improvement not gamespeed).

That's very relieving to hear, hope that I can play Sonic Colors and DKCR well too.
edit: 40fps at the lowest? Now I can't wait to upgrade. 40fps was my highest with my current specs.
40 fps was my lowest for SMG. Your lowest will probably be about 50 fps. Donkey kong country returns will run fullspeed with the right settings and revision for sure but sonic colors probably still won't. That game is a b*tch to run. Overclocked I7 users can run SMG with the LLE audio plugin and efb to ram and sitll get fullspeed 90% of the time

Hey guys, I am building a new PC with the help of a friend of mine and I am having a bit of trouble choosing my new CPU. I know for a fact that I'm going for an AMD Phenom II either X4 or X6. I don't plan to OC the CPU and I'm not very knowledgeable about how big the difference in performance will be between the 3 CPUs I have in mind. I currently own a AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 2.80Ghz.
- AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz
- AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban 2.8GHz
- AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz
If it helps you I also plan to get:
- GeForce GTX 460 (Can't decide which one)
- ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GX SATA 6Gb/s
- Crucial Ballistix Tracer 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
I would appreciate if you can recommend me the best CPU out of the 3 (for Dolphin). Thank you in advance.
965. Dolphin only uses 2 threads so spending extra money on a 6 core would be a waste.
Anybody try to run Dolphin on Intel Core i3 with Intel HD Graphics ? Processor is fast and the graphics is not bad.

iam playing Dolphin on my i3 380m Laptop with 2.53GHZ
with the OPTIMUS NVIDIA 310m
i can play most of the games with 80-100% and Drops to 60%...
mh3, harvest moon... etc.
on my i7 920 @ 3.8 GHZ it works like a charm

thx. I buy Asus GT240 for this motherboard. But i check dolphin on onboard graphic, before i mount PCI-E Asus card. I'm still waiting for the ordered processor, will be delivered tomorrow.
