Hey I am about to order a laptop and was wanting to know if this would be able to run most games in Dolphin?
Yeah, most game will run fullspeed except Super Mario Galaxy (CPU speed 3.6Ghz).No laptop could run this game fullspeed anyway

Thanks. Most of the games I want to play are GC games anyway the added Wii games will just be a bonus. I guess I'll have the save Galaxy for the desktop.
got a question
what processor is better for dolphin;
intel i3 @ 3.0 ghz or an intel E8400 @3.0ghz? (il overclock them later on)
i wanna upgrade my rig for dolphin uses only and i am doubting between the 2 processors.
thanks in advance ^^
Hi,
I'd like to ask if setting up an overclocked e8400 @4GHz is still a good setup for Dolphin since some users note that the first post is outdated? I plan to play my wii games in HD. I don't exactly have the budget for an i7. The main use for the PC would be dolphin, pcsx2, web surfing and burning (and probably fable 3 and diablo 3).
My planned rig:
E8400, Asus p5q turbo, 4GB 1066 MHz HyperX and ATI 5770 * 2 on crossfire.
Currently hardware wise I have:
Pentium Dual Core E5200 overclocked running at 3.50 GHz
Radeon 4670, 512 MB GDDR3
2 GB RAM
What resolution should I expect to get out of that type of a setup? 1080p or is that a stretch? 720p doable?
In Dolphin "Display" Tab set resolution :1024x768 (HD720p) or 1366x768(more than 720p)
1080p and 720p depend on how big your monitor and your rigs is not enough for 1080p.Dolphin resolution must be the same as monitor resolution
wow! thank you, the budget price guide is extremely helpful, i will choose another gfx card and possibly ram, but the rest is awesome! i'm currently using a powerful pc but i'm sharing it
I dumped a wii game of mine named new super mario bros wii but i had to split it into 3 seperate files so i could get it on my pc but now its in three different iso files and i can't play it

. can someone tell me how to make it one fle and play it
You must have it in a single file. Try to dump it in a single iso file. Three files are not suitable for this.

Your rig is perfect for HD playing. A single 5770 is enough for 720p with maybe 4xAA. Your RAM is also of top quality unlike mine 667 MHz...
Answer in short words : Rig is AWESOME!!!
