I have a 500w power supply unit.
Does anyone think it is enough to run an xfx gtx 260 Black Overclocked edition?
I got my power supply a while ago off newegg

The card is no longer supported by newegg, ill get it somewhere else if i can run it.
500W is more than enough I use to run a Q6600@3ghz+9800GX2 with 525W , you should be fine !

Wow sweet!
I was just curious because Newegg says the requirement is at least 600w.
Do you think the video card is a good choice for the future?
Will overclocking my current CPU(in my sig) do much in regard to speeding up some games?

Anything past gts250 including your card is pretty much futureproof for a few years.

For guaranteed and better dx11 support I'd get one of the mid-upper range ATi cards though. Not that it's a big selling point yet though; Most games have yet to even properly utilize dx10. But in case you want your system to perform well in the future too.

Do note that pc hardware upgrade cycles aren't as steep as they used to be & modern components are already very strong.. A gtx9800/radeon 3850 card bought in 2008 will run games made in 2012 just fine, whereas nothing made in 2001 will play games made in 2005, hope you get the point..
Core i5 750 +8800 GTS good for dolphin?
Hello everyone,

wanna by a new core pc and I'm thinking of these reasonable priced bundles:

Bundle 230€:
AMD Athlon II X2 250 2x3.0 GHz
ASUS M4A77TD PRO ATX AMD 770 Socket AM3 (no onboard graphic)
2048MB DDR3
Radeon HD 4350 or 5450

Bundle 250€:
AMD PhenomII 720 boxed BE
ASRock M3A790GXH onboard Radeon HD 3300 graphics
2048MB DDR3

What about those bundles? Graphic could be onboard but emulation should be rather CPU than GPU intensive? Or do games like Twilight Princess require more GPU power? Anyone could say what framerates one might expect with games like Mario Kart or TP.

Depends on what resolution you intend to play, if you want to go 1280x1024 or beyond (mine starts slowing down here and is a little faster than 5550), I'd replace the 5450 for a 5550 (gddr3 memory if possibe, REAL nice overclocking).
On Onboard HD3300 you'd be able to play fine up to 800x600.

About CPU, even the Athlon II performs nicely, but you might want an extra core for the rest of the OS and co. (processes), or the new DSP recompiler that is being currently developed.
Your choice, depending on how you play or use your new rig.
^^ Thanks for the answer, I'm leaning more to this combination now.

The 5550 is much better than the 5450, but costs 85€ if you want to buy a silent version, also consums double the energy and might heat up my system to much. Onboard graphic has the problem of taking away from my 2 GB RAM.

The Athlon II 250 has 2x3GHz while the Phenom II 720 has 3x2,8 GHz, which might be even worse for dolphin.

I dont know if its good theard for my question... anyway i'll ask.

My PC spec is:

Athlon 64 5400 x2
Radeon HD3870 512
4gb ram

So, my question is simple. Can I run Wii/GC games without problems??? Especially thinking about Super Mario Galaxy 1/2 ?? :x
