Hi,
I am totally new to this whole WII-Emulation on a PC/MAC. I am planning to buy a new Imac and install Windows XP on it.
The Specs of the Imac:
3.06 GHz Intel Core2Duo
4 GB Memory
ATI Radeon HD 4670 (256MB RAM)
Would it be possible to play any game in (almost) fullspeed? And if yes, which ones?
thx in advance
You should have great perfs ,Yes .
And about which games , depends on the games you own ^^
Hi,
Thanks for sharing such a nice information.
Thanks.
i posted some questions in general discussion regarding building a system for dolphin, but apparently it somehow was flagged as "off topic." >_>
Whatever.
i know you folks dont like double posts so im not gonna re-post it here however, i wanna here YOUR opinion so come here and say it. now.

@rene mauricio: Aren't you the guy with the youtube Mario Galaxy Video, running at fullspeed? (even in HD if I remember right)
What CPU did you use and at which clocks, I've got the e8500 and can clock it up to 3,8ghz without a problem(4,2ghz is possible but I don't like to stress the hardware that much, besides everything above 3,8ghz seems to randomly crash after an hour). I really hope it's enough.
Well I can't try it out until I have that Mario Galaxy Iso, and this seems to take a while still
-Also on a sidenote, can you, or anyone, tell me if it's possible to use a decent amount of AA with wii games with an HD4850 GFX Card?
How much more speed would the i7 mobile offer over the Core2Duo mobile? I know laptops aren't recommended, just askin'.
hmm, isnt it about time to update the list since, like half of the units are deactivated? im just saying...

Processor: AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition $99
Can someone tell me why a 3.1 GHz processor is 'budget' for Dolphin? It doesn't utilize more than 2 cores does it? So isn't clock speed all that matters?
I ask because I want to get an x2 550, but I want to be able to run SMG at full speed in HD....
I've heard a couple of thing about quads that can help as opposed to a dual core at the same clock speed. First of all, I've heard that quads are just inherently faster, clock for clock. Secondly, and this may or may not be real, but the OS takes some amount of the CPU speed up to run itself. You might be able to get better speeds off of a triple or quad core by setting the affiliation of the current program to a specific unused core via task manager. The second thing is not something I know works, but some rumor I heard to help speed. Correct me if i'm wrong.
Anyways, I'm new here, just joined and never used Dolphin. I can't run it currently due to using an 8 year old laptop with no decent specs. Time for me to upgrade, which I am going to do this Christmas. I wanted to build my own computer, but I didn't have the money to do even that. A family member has a Dell rewards card they're going to allow me to use, so i'm stuck with a cheap-ish Dell. Dolphin is not my #1 priority for getting this computer, but I just wanted to know what I could do with it. I know Dell sucks, and the specs aren't the greatest. I'd like to know if it can run any gamecube games. I guess wii is too much to ask for, but we'll see. Here's the specs-
Dell Inspiron 546MT
The CPU I am not sure about yet, but it's similar, save for a little different clock speeds and L2 cache-
- AMD Athlon II X2 215 (2.7 GHz, 1MB) OR AMD Athlon II X2 250 (3ghz, 2MB)
- 2GB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHZ
- ATI Radeon HD 4350 512MB
I know the graphics card sucks. It's the only option available at this time, and I don't mind native resolution. I may very well upgrade it later if it's worth it, but this is all I can afford currently. What can I hope to achieve with these specs? And is there any huge reason to go with the faster model (or are the differences negligible).
Yeah, I doubt I can run any Wii games with this. Unless i'm lucky and dial down the graphics or something. But Gamecube maybe? Thanks in advance.
