I'm planning on building a gaming pc and I wanted some opinions on how well it would run most games. My build would consist of a i5 3570k, asus maximus V Gene, 8 gb ddr3 1866, and a Nvidia GTX 670. I'm hoping to be able to overclock the processor to 4.5 ghz. I'd like to be able to play Skyward Sword and Luigi's Mansion full speed at 1080p. Would this be a good enough system? I've read from some people that you need the best i7 processor around but I'm hoping an overclocked i5 would be good enough. Thanks for your help.
Yep, those specs will be powerful enough to run both games full speed with that overclock. For an idea of how well games run, click the "Home" link at the top of the page then the Compatibility link, then the game link, and then the test results link.
Alright cool. Just wanted to be sure before I pulled the trigger. All the parts came out to about $1600. Expensive but not insanely expensive. From what I know Skyward Sword runs pretty well but has some graphical glitches. Crossing my fingers for Dolphin 4.0 by Christmas.

Insanely expensive !
what if i say i could build a better PC than yours for only 850$
Are you buying this prebuilt from somewhere? The parts you listed shouldn't cost near that much. I've bought all but that gpu and I'm at 5-600 invested.
Wait until June and get a i5-4570K instead.
And next gen Nvidia 700 series : May 23 2013

Could you? Sharing is caring Wink.
That price of $1600 includes a good liquid cooling kit, Windows 8, G. Skills Sniper series ram, etc.

Where did you read that from ? Nope , i7 = i5 since DOphin doesn't care about Hyper Threading

You should not need watercooling to bump up i5 to 4.5GHz , air cooling is good enough . Ram doesn't matter with Dolphin much . You should not need asus maximus V Gen unless you want to push i5 to 5GHz or higher

I think i should spend more than 850$

i5 3570k (170$)
Gigabyte WindForce 7950 3GB 384bit (higher memory bandwidth than GTX 670 -> use higher internal resolution in Dolphin - 310$)
Seasonic S12II 620W 80 PLus Bronze Japanese Capacitors (60$) (500W SS is good enough , 620W SS can handle 2x7950 in crossfire - overkill )
Latest Intel SSD 335 80GB (105$)
Best bang for buck - Good for overclocking : Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 + Free 8GB Crucial memory for only 135$
WD Green 1.5TB 7200rpm (80$)
Best bang for buck Rosewill BlackHawk case (90$) - Newegg Brand
Best bang for buck - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (37$)
Arctic MX-4 (10$)

997$ for full build

You can also swap Intel 335 180GB (175$) , G.Skill Ripjaws X Series(60$) + Gigabyte Z77 Ultra Durable 3 (140$) , Corsair H100i (110$) Watercooling if you want to

Hey thanks a bunch. You saved me almost $700.
