Hello,

I've try to play to xenoblade with the latest build without succes.
The errors are :

I've tracked back at wich build it first occured, and it was the 3.5 557 (each try were just right click on the archive, extract here, launching dolphin and opening the iso, no modification of the default conf.)

Can someone help me with this error ?

Regards.
3.5-557 is not the latest. Does it still happen in 3.5-1282?
I gathered that the OP tried the latest revision but narrowed it down to which revisions introduced the issue. I could be mistaken though, since the OP never explicitly said which revision the latest was (new revisions are always being committed, so the "latest" can change).

EDIT: I'm able to play XBC just fine on newer revisions. Might not help, but always verify your dump by comparing the MD5 hash with one from an online database like GameTDB.

You were right Shonumi,
I've tried with these versions : 1282 1267 1231 1104 1062 1044 661 606 557.
I'm using a ciso so i cannot check md5sum :/

If it works on your's with the latest version, I'll try to boot on my windows directly on my computer to check if it's because it's virtualized or not...
I also get this in mario kart wii on the latest revision, only seems to occur in dx11. Basically I get:

BackPatch: Currently only supporting reads. Attempted to write to 524d4368

Backpatch write - not through EAX

Then dolphin crashes. Ticking 'skip efb access from cpu' seems to stop it occuring. Checked the md5 which is fine.

I found this bug on MKWII. Just to reduce confusion about which of the games I'm referring to.
I also have the same error.
First I blamed it on my custom stage testing, then I thought it was a bad dump.
Then I found this thread too.
Weird, I'm not using ciso's, but gcz's. But I'll still test the two versions.
Forms of this bug are present down to 3.0 more than a year ago. :gasp:

And I have also experienced crashes with a decompressed ISO.
And his statement is not true. I have gotten a crash on 556, but it tool 3/4 of a lap on dry dry ruins, instead of like 5% of a lap. Maybe the build method changed somehow?
395 is broken, all new config other than copying wii savefile over and enabling EFB to Ram. Will keep testing.
204 has a different error related to ASM.
79 has both.
Dolphin 3.5 stable is bugged?
Yes, really. Brand new savefile, brand new extract, nothing at all changed but xb360 GC controller, D3D11, and EFB to Ram, and it still errors. This time, I used Mario Circuit, as Dry Dry Ruins is not unlocked by default. I'll try 3.0 just for fun.

:headdesk: THIS BUG IS PRESENT IN 3.0! HOW OLD IS THIS SH*T? Other than the inverted minimap, of course. This time in Luigi Circuit, bcuz I'm too lazy to move the cursor.

How to kill yourself in 10 characters and say some completely irrelevant stuff in one hundred and eighteen characters.

Yep you're right, MKWii, Dx11 EFB to RAM and 3.5 stable produced this error:

Then the currently supporting reads / not through EAX. It seems to crash at the same point on mushroom gorge every time.
These backpatch error messages are borderline useless for actual debugging (they only tell you that *something* broke). The only way to get any useful debug info here is to disable fastmem (a moderate performance improvement) and reproduce the crash.

Unfortunately, disabling fastmem ain't simple. An internal option was added recently, but it's not in the UI and I don't believe you can just pass it to a nogui build as a flag. Swapping the "true" in line 63 of Source/Core/Core/Src/CoreParameter.cpp with a "false" and recompiling should do it, if you can compile your own builds. https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=47f1505499dd0ba8cd78c2d5ff3600c937d75236
