I think skid is more referring to an ability to pinpoint issues that are specific to static and (assuming here) that skid believes it would be easier to deal with an issue should it present itself.
haddockd, there is no rush ...when you are ready.

CaptainRed, XAudio2 is ok, dsound is generally considered by the devs to be unstable.
skid, thanks for your patience. I have a few things to note:

1) Stock clocks do indeed experience the issue (in fact if the game doesn't run at full speed, some of the crackling is worse)
2) I had to use another movie app as Fraps refused to record the title bar for whatever reason. Kind of pisses me off because it is resource intensive and brought my fps down sometimes when recording. Anyways
3) I uploaded 2 vids so you could see the counters. You already heard the sound itself, so there are only 2 short ones this time. You can clearly see the version, fps, and all the items you requested as I played through once the static started to get bad. It, of course, got worse like you heard before but the fps, and all were the same (full speed). Let me know if you need anything else:

Would you please make one more video, but this time at the shop item menu screen like in video 1 (of the first set) but this time with the titlebar like you did in set 2?
The first vid in the initial set was just me in the menu (I was on the world map). I never visited the shops in either of the sets. To confirm, you want me to be in the shops while the static is occurring correct?
Ah no, I would like the video to be in the world map at the same screen as it was in the first video. This time, would you please use the XAudio2 backend?
Sure! I never liked OpenAL anyways even with 0 latency the delay was too large for me. I will go to the same area and open the menu when the sound starts and send you a vid. I will also play once it gets at its worst and do the same. Smile

Thanks for working with me on this skid!
Crackling sound still present in Donkey Kong Country with HLE. I still can't understand why nobody fixes that, it's such a great game, being ruined by sound.

Sound going off in Mario Galaxy another problem, although not as bad as the first one. Still should try to be fixed after such a long time. Can't understand why all these developments started ( Oculus Rift, android, OS X, etc. ), when the AAA titles are not fully playable.

No cracking experienced in other games that I use ( Mario Games, Party, Sports, and a few others )

Please dont hijack my thread Smile

That is partially why my issue has caused confusion because my initial thread was filled with outside requests and different sound issues.

If you have issues with specific games, post that in the appropriate board (or you could even open an issue).
skid,

I uploaded that video for you. The bandicam logo is over some of the title bar but it says VPS: 60 and speed 100% but if you look you can tell.
