I agree the issue is easily confused with others and also information is rather segregated over various threads/issues. For example the 'audio glitch' thread had a number of people who experience the issue but other issues were also being discussed which confuses things.
@haddockd
When testing this at stock did you have turbo enabled (so 3.7ghz effective when running dolphin?). I am going to test if this also stops it for me and wanted to use the same settings, cheers.

I never use Turbo Boost because I always overclock and it can cause instability. Did I try Turbo Boost when I had my CPU at stock? No I did not. If you want to match me setting for setting on my overclock, all I did was:
Upped the multi
Upped the volts for vCore, IO and memory
Keep in mind I tested it keeping EVERYTHING on stock and just upping the multi and the issue still happened.
Try increasing the voltage more than you usually do.
I set vcore as high as 1.4V (I refuse to go any higher than that)
Try a 400 MHz OC with that voltage. Just to see if it works.
I gave that a shot and still no dice unfortunately.
lor were you ever able to test out TurboBoost?
Also, I know you are busy, but any other suggestions or clarifications needed skid?
haddockd Wrote:Also if you look on page three of the audio glitch thread, Shonumi, you yourself said you experienced the issue...sooo...when you just said you never experienced this at all, perhaps you are just forgetting
Yo, please read for context :p I was talking about overclocking specifically (hence why I mentioned I'm at 3.8 GHz now). Fwiw, I stopped having this issue on HLE audio a long time ago thanks to newer Dolphin revisions, and I've certainly never had it with LLE audio (OCed or not). When I posted in that thread, I was still at stock clocks (3.3GHz) and I haven't encountered audio issues like you described at all since I OCed about a month ago.
I'm currently replaying ToS and Xenoblade Chronicles, both of which I can easily do 2+ hour play sessions, so I can do some additional testing to see if any audio issues crop up.
I do agree that there is ALOT of stuff going on in that thread so if I misquoted you, I apologize for that as it was not my intention. I have never gotten the issue with HLE because basically all the games I play require LLE so I never really use HLE (WW, TP, SMG, RE4, MarioKart Wii, and more). It has been awhile but if I recall correctly myself, Topken and lor were (and still are unless token has resolved his) having this exact issue. There are likely more and I can rummage through the 20 page audio glitch thread if it is needed.
Not yet haddockd, i'm going to do some testing tonight. Mostly checking whether:
1). Stock 3.3ghz works around the issue same as you. I'll also test with turbo on depending how it goes.
2). Whether I get it on HLE as well (as I have pretty much never used HLE extensively).
I haven't found a quick way to reproduce this though

other than playing areas which play lower frequency music for long periods speeds it up abit.
Agreed Unfortunately it is an issue that you have to wait on.
