So I'm trying to emulate Mario Kart Wii but it won't pick up any of the buttons I pick. I have the controller on the emulated Wiimote but the game will not pick up any of it's configurations no matter what they are changed to.
Please advise.
Try a GC controller instead just for lulz
Somewhere in the controls section, you need to set Wiimote 1 to "Connected".

Unfortunately doesn't work either.

Do you know where? Can't seem to find that.
For the GC controller, click the Config button and go to the Gamecube tab; make sure Port 1 says standard controller.
For the emulated Wiimote, press Alt + F5 to toggle disconnecting/connecting the first Wiimote.
Also, please take a screenshot of your Emulated Wiimote settings.

The GC controller is set to standard controller under port 1. I tried using Alt + F5 but still nothing is picked up.
My settings are attached.
You realize that you mapped nothing for "Swing" and "Tilt" right?
Also if you don't use any Nunchuk (recommended btw) you have to check "Sideways Wiimote".
And set Port1 to "Nothing" in Config/GC otherwise the game will wait for a GC pad and not a Wiimote

I realized that, it doesn't really affect my problem but thanks. Setting the port in the GC config to nothing also doesn't change anything.

It does affect your problem since you won't be able to move your character otherwise. But nevermind. I forgot something.
Set Extension to "None" and don't forget to check "Sideways Wiimote". Your Wiimote will be used as a Wii Wheel and it should work now (let Port1 to "Nothing" in Config/GC)

I had already set it to that, still nothing is picked up.
