Here's a video of widescreen in Windwaker without stretching the HUD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjHTY_zYNuA
Edit: And I took a screenshot of Super Mario Sunshine without the HUD stretching:
Choosing "perspective" stretches the HUD, "full" doesn't.

This is amazing
, too bad I have to make a new save
Also...somehow I now have a LoZ: WW 100% save from 6/24/03 with the name Alex...da faq
Lol, derp I copied that save a long time ago XD
Also the reason it wasn't using my saves is because it was trying to use a EUR memory file (which is what swiss GC is)

We've always known how to improve the widescreen hack, our current way is just a lot safer and should cause a lot less issues in games. Games aren't made to have to render more than they expect, and some may run out of memory with a widescreen hack that modifies the perspective matrix aspect ratio.
If someone wants to implement a widescreen hack that HLEs MTXPerspective to force the aspect ratio, we would probably want to merge it - not sure how to present it in the UI though.

Perhaps just a drop down list for the different methods would work. Better to have the choice if it makes a lot of games look a whole lot better.

The problem with that is it would probably lead to many hacks being created and I don't think the developers want that :p

I must have done it wrong because widescreen hack still ruins reflections.

It doesn't work with all games, see here:

So I took it upon myself to merge the latest Swiss SVN r214 into a homebrew iso and can now use it to boot Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes to test widescreen on. I made a comparison video this time. Sorry the images aren't synced perfectly. Swiss widescreen setting set to "Persp", setting it to "Yes" causes texture problems in the game. It is HD so fullscreen it!
