Hmm, reading a few recent threads on here, I feel like giving my opinion too.
With this thread in particular, you can clearly see that the OP is just frustrated that his games aren't running as well as they were (and they aren't, even though new AX-HLE is more accurate, the end-user's experience at the end of the day isn't as good as it was with the old AX-HLE) and some slightly over-exaggerated info from LordVador "
HLE has become almost as demanding as LLE." So his comment, "this stupid ax-hle spoils everything .." (while a bit much) isn't meant to mean, it's just come from frustrations, misunderstandings... and maybe some truths.
So now, when you get to something like this, you really have 3 options here:
You can do what MaJoR did; try to help slax and scootaloo understand what's going on.
You could ignore them, and everyone with a negative view or criticism towards your work (probably want to go with this one delroth

).
Or you can give them a hearty '
fuck you' - and escalate the situation.
What Anyoldname3 said in the 'Wii Network Dumping Censorship' thread is true "
don't realise how much simpler it would be for everyone if users
'bothered' to look at what the answer was the last time the question was
posed" pointing someone in the right direction, like a post you've previously made, or blog - or even ignoring them - will help out a lot more than starting a big rant with "
the guy whose name I'm too lazy to scroll down" as all that'll get you is an even bigger argument which will leave you in a
negativity overflow.
Anyway, back to the topic, and perhaps why delroth is probably more frustrated now than with previous criticisms of dolphin;
Maybe some of the people who've spoken negatively about new AX-HLE aren't completely wrong. It
does perform worse for a lot of people who can't run games at fullspeed (and no, that's not just people with Pentium 4s). It's kinda like when byuu first released bsnes and it was only built for pure accuracy and it ran like shit for a lot of people, everyone asked why used something that doesn't work on my PC when ZSNES - even though it's 'inaccurate' - works. Instead of telling them to fuck off (well he may have at first, didn't really follow him) he gave people options and made a performance build that worked on older PCs. People seem to be so against options here...
You say that having both new and old AX-HLE aren't possible (even though
we are not willing to do it anyway sounds otherwise), but what about some form of advanced time-stretching? According to the second New AX-HLE testing thread OpenAL already supports time-stretching - though it's not much for bad framerate drops - so implementing more advanced options for it like PCSX2's and some dialog in the GUI letting users know that they can fix their stuttering issues, could be helpful - and I'm sure less people bitching about sound issues would make the months working on new AX-HLE seem more worthwhile.
