Plz just stop talking. You are incorrect in so many ways. The Galaxy S4 is not a "minimum requrement" It just ahppens to be the first phone to support Open GL ES 3.0. And no, it's not 8 cores. The International one has 8 cores total but can only use 4 of them at any time. Its really just a more power effiecient quod core processor. And further, the international one doesn't even support GL ES 3.0. The only one that does is the American/Canadian LTE branch of GS4s. Its not that they are the first phones to be FAST enough, but instead they are the first phones to have support for the fastest, most efficient Graphics calls. Please do some research before posting.

And as for Gingerbread, I think the dev should make it available on that OS version, however, since there will never be a mass-produced Gingerbread device with support for Open GL ES 3.0, it's not like anyone is really missing out on anything.
Yeah, you were able to reply before I could. This is exactly my point that even though my phone is not optimal, it would be nice to try out this proof of concept. Also I can over clock my phone to 2 ghz so I probably will be able to get some decent frame rates. So can you please decompile the .apk and allow installation for Gingerbread phones please!

I predict you'll get 1 fps - just because we round up :-P
Also for most older phones, gles3 isn't possible because of an unflexible gpu. The current ones (released this year) should mostly support gles3 in future.

Seeejaaaay: no!

I think _some_ games can be run, but I think all games you want to run aren't enoyable at all. Try it out on your computer, disable framelimit and try some simple gc games. Some of them runs with 400%+. They _may_ work
Games like super mario galaxy or twilight princess can perhaps be played on new mobiles in ~3 years...

Exactly my point, my phone is not going to run melee on it or something like that. But it would be nice to be able to say my phone can run gamecube games (kinda) Tongue
There is a way to use dolphin without a supported GPU, but llvmpipe always crashes here :-( But I'm glad to see the performance of it. I guess something like 10 times faster than videosoftware :-)

I'm With Stupid: I'm sure lots of gles3 features could be emulated, but I still don't know how you want to support eg integer support in pixel shader without executing the pixelshader on cpu

Yeah thats the problem with it, I'm gonna fiddle with this for a month and when I finally realize its not possible then I guess I'll stop Undecided

(but I need a GB version to do this Big Grin )
I bet with quad-core and GLES3 support, you might get 15 FPS on non-heavy 3D games (if you're lucky Dodgy ). 3D-heavy games will probably get 2 FPS. 2D games might be about 25-35 FPS. I also think that Wii support wouldn't be very good. It might even go under 1 FPS for 3D-heavy Wii games (such as Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2). The only playable-ish Wii games MIGHT be New Super Mario Bros. Wii, SSBB, and 2D games.
Wiigeek336: I hope for much more. As dolphin is usually cpu bound, the bad mobile gpus doesn't matter that much. Forget LLE :-)
But your I guess the same for 2D games :-P

Edit: but as a realistic estimate: you're right :-(

You may want to consider giving the Android branch of the emulator a codename to distinguish it from
the dolphin broswer, so people can find it easier. Anyway, I ran this on my Android gaming tablet (1.5 ghz dual-core) , getting about 4 fps in graphics, and sound going full speed in Melee, and got to the character select screen fine, but couldn't get past without analog stick emulation. :p Keep up the good work.

Hello from tahiti, thanks a lot for the work in this project.

Just a question, a have a sony xperia SP, with qualcom msm8960T with GPU adreno 320 supporting OpenGL 3.0, it is a good configuration for the emulator ?

Sorry for my english Big Grin .

THKS again
Everything with OpenGL (ES) 3 should be supported, so yes.
Some new??, waiting for a new version of developer running in a galaxy s4. In theory in snapdragon 800 more better.

The youtube video in htc one with open gles 3.0 is bad but because ,0.2 version not optimized for open gles 3.

I donated, go! go! developer , waiting for a new version optimized working in a galaxy s4 and when it is working ok. Pcsx2 ps2 emulator other good idea.

and can play with usb gamepads and bluetooth gamepads.
Think about it this way; Android is a very lightweight operating system compared to Windows, Mac, and Linux: Therefore, you should get a mild speedup Big Grin . But I also think that mobile CPUs aren't quite ready for such demanding emulators. Results from a recent test have been shown in an article that I saw a few days ago. Basically, somebody took a Tegra 3 tablet and a Core 2 Duo at 1.6 GHz and ran tests. The Tegra 3 actually won by just a small margin. A C2D at 1.6 GHz is only enough to run 2D games and very small 3D games at 40 FPS+. What I'm saying is you would need to do heavy overclocking on the newest CPUs just to get the emulator to run at a high enough speed(after they port the JIT recompiler to Android, of course Wink ).
