After listening to Xenoblade music on main menu more closely, I can confirm it has same issue as Last Story - and solution is the same, too.
It seems "Auto" framelimit is not working correctly with new AX HLE for some reason, and this is not connected to WII games only, I just heard little bit of cracking on ToS too, solved by "Audio" framelimit also.

Also, I am wondering about ToS issue I reported, I see its not added into first post.
Raw audio data seems to be correct, but something is wrong with audio mixer probably.
Is audio mixer a part of AX HLE code ? Or is it part of another dolphin code ?
Could it be something alse or is it mixer's fault ?
OK, if someone can suggest a file locker site to upload to, I have a wav file captured from xenoblade main menu that demonstrates the crackling.

Settings it was captured with:
dual core on
idle skipping off
frame limit *audio*
jit recompiler
dsp on dedicated thread off
backend = xaudio2
gfx: dx9 backend, render to main on, efb->texture, nothing special

I think I know what you are talking about - this is even less noticable then issue which pops up when using "Auto" framelimit.
However, this is not AX HLE issue, as exactly same issue is present with LLE.
Can you try with LLE to see if same issue is still present for you ?
It certanly is some kind of bug in dolphin, since music is fine in 3.5
I also tried with 3.5-1100 master - same issue
If you don't know what to test but want to help: check if these issues still happen in new-ax-hle: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/list?cursor=dolphin-emu%3A4210&q=Component%3DDSPHLE&ts=1364841840&updated=4210

Thanks!

I tried LLE and yes, the slight crackling is there as well. So it's not unique to HLE. Do you happen to know a (recent) version that didn't have this? It's not major but since delroth is working on this right now, we should see if he can fix it before he gets busy with something else.

I can help search for a good revision if need be.

Like I said, but you didn't notice, it seems fine in 3.5 Smile

Well with regard to the wiimote speaker it is working on nsmbw using new hle. I still can't tell exactly whats coming out of it but it sounds the same as lle.

OK, well that's a good start but it still leaves a 3 month window. I'll start looking when I get home. I REALLY want xenoblade as perfect as possible on dolphin.

Tested with 3.5-1123

Metroid Prime 2 Echoes GC (G2ME01) sound issues with sound effects like: power beam, morph ball bomb...

Metroid Prime 2 in HLE with all backends (DSound, XAudio2 and OpenAL) still looks like this -> http://delroth.net/mp2-hle.wav?

Metroid Prime 2 HLE (DSound, XAudio2 and OpenAL) with "Surround" enabled ingame -> http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7ov8rsdgjhesl0c

LLE didn't has those issues on the sound effects.

Note: in the "new-ax-hle branch3.0-842" those sound effect are working ok.

The "new-ax-hle branch 3.0-843" is the build that has caused those issues on the sound effects in Metroid Prime 2.

Not sure if my report is relevant but just in case: sound effects in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GFEE01) are really behind the video. Happens with eny audio backend, HLE, LLE, this branch and master one. I remembers sound timing was perfect in old 3.0-era but it was broken in any other way...
