It's a bit over the top.
The 3770K could be replaced with a 3570K.
You definitely don't need a 256GB SSD for emulation.
You definitely don't need 16GB of ram.
You could get a GTX 660 for barely more than the GTX 480 off of newegg. It performs almost the same and has a fraction of the power consumption/heat and noise level. Plus an EVGA model would give you a solid multi-year warranty unlike this no-name brand that you found on ebay. As far as the chassis goes whatever floats your boat. I see no power supply listed. As far as the cooler is concerned I would highly recommend checking the dimensions of the case and using frostytechs low profile list to make sure you get a good performing aftermarket cooler that fits.

Yeah, I would agree. I just want to make sure I don't come up short on some aspect of it and regret it later on. One-time build sorta thing.

That would drop the cost from $350 to $210, which I'm all for, but in my mind I'm thinking:

Since this is a Micro-Case and it'll be in my entertainment center, I am concerned about the heat aspect.

Yeah, I'll drop that. I don't even need that for other games. I was just hoping to get a speed boost on bootup and keep the sound down, but the internal HD shouldn't be louder than the fans.

Yeah, but for $100, you can't go wrong. 8 gigs seems to be around 70 or so, at least worth it since there's only 2 slots on the MB.

i7 has Hyper Threading but Dolphin does not support it . So the i5 and i7 will run identical

There isn't a significant performance difference between the two in dolphin (3-5% tops). The larger cache and HT don't benefit dolphin in any way. Only the 100MHz higher clock rate will have any impact.

Both are true. Your system will be a lot faster overall with an SSD boot drive. But it won't boost application performance, just load times (how long it takes to open an application). I find 256GB to be a bit big for a boot drive but that's just me personally. Since you're going to end up with a HDD anyways with your rom data on it it won't reduce noise very much.

Both are fine. The superclocked edition is obviously a bit faster and a bit more expensive. I would go for the superclocked edition if I were you.

I've done some checking on it, and the components look pretty good, and that's the highest wattage I see in that size.
And I plan on running Maximus Arcade with all the other emulators on it. Once I have all that done probably configure it for TV play of steam games as well. If you haven't checked out Maximus Arcade, you should, it's really a great front loader for all different kinds of emulation.

For the record power supplies that are bundled with cases are almost always of poor quality. I tend to advise people to buy them separately. However in the case of your silverstone chassis the included PSU is a custom silverstone design that looks quite good.

Yeah, I agree. Silverstone has some quality products. Most of the pieces are here, so I should have some updated news soon
