Is there any original logo in a higher resolution? If so, does anyone have it? If not, which images were used to make it in its current form?
As a possibly related question, when was the present logo finalized? If it was long ago, it's very likely that it's disappeared forever.
I couldn't find it anywhere on the Web. which doesn't make sense. I really can't believe that it doesn't exist.

Yeah, the Mario's two-finger in a blue box. I need to scale it up, but hq4x didn't work well at all and normal scale is too blurry. I eventually got GIMP and the NL filter to cooperate and give me a reasonably scaled version. Is there any effective scaling algorithm for low-res antialiased art like the logo?

WHY ICNS? WNHY OH WHY?
...jk. Why not use ICO or PNG? other than that, it worked perfectly.
