Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

I've decided that I'm going to get the Toshiba with AMD A8 4500m because it will run of games the fastest, multitask the best with its quad core apu, and it has a 640GB HDD vs the 500GB ones. I am planning on create a bunch of benchmark tests for Dolphin here and on YouTube, and I look forward to showing my results.

Maybe not on their low end CPUs, but at least on the higher end ones, what AMD call two cores is what Intel call one, except AMD slap an extra control unit on the 1/2 core block. This means that when running multi-threaded things, it runs better than it would with a single control unit, but single threaded things run much worse.

1. What is a 1/2 core block?
2. Are you saying that there are two control units per module or two control units per "core"? Both of those statements would be false according to AMDs documentation by the way.

This was based solely off poor recollection of something you said at some point. Also I did mean module when I said 1/2 core block.

Anyway, at some point, you said something vaguely along these lines, and apparently I got it wrong.

It would not be the worst ur would be the best (I mean PC Gaming) the only game I actually need to play on Dolphin is Wind Waker cuz its amazing. Plus while your right about A6 not truly being dual core, A8 is legit quad core. And if u lose faith in humanity, what is left to have faith in, birds?And I said I was still a noob if u read the comments. I actually know a lot more than the average I just choose less mainstream things. EX: In my opinion, Firefox is better than Chrome, Bing is better than Google, Android is better than Apple, Old games are better than new games, and below the waist of a girl is better than above.

This sentence is so broken I don't even know what it's supposed to be saying so I can't fix it. Although I can point out that it's missing punctuation in the middle and "ur" is supposed to be "yours" (I think, I'm not even totally sure since I don't know what you're trying to say).

1: The average what? This is an incomplete sentence. Also no punctuation where it is needed.

Please for the love of god stop using "u", "ur", and "cuz" as replacements for "you", "your/you're", and "because". Normally I'm not a grammar nazi but this is ridiculous. This was painful to read. Also one of those sentences is poorly written but grammatically correct (clarify what "things" are).

1. How can you consider a module (which has 2 cores or 1 core depending on how you define cores) a "1/2 core block"?
2. If we replace "1/2 core block" in that sentence with "module" it still doesn't make sense.

Actually I have a high A in honors lit. I just use autocorrect and am used to texting. Also, by not following mainstream I mean that I test things out for myself no matter what the review is. And I don't know one person who thinks FireFox is better than Chrome. And the first line of my old post was autocorrected in a weird way. I meant, "Actually it would run it the best at PC Games out of the three laptops." Because despite notebookcheck putting i3 ahead, there's not one YouTube video of gaming with that new processor and the A8 4500m videos look spectacular. Also I saw a video of it playing Assassins Creed III at a great speed, not sure if it was full speed but it was perfectly playable. Just ask if you want the link. I do not care what your grades are, what device you're using, or what you're used to. There is no excuse for terrible spelling or grammar. It makes your posts unpleasant to read and difficult to understand. In some cases I may decide not to respond at all simply because of the effort needed to decipher the post.

1. If you're using a smartphone turn autocorrect off or proofread your post. Also you really should not get used to writing that way unless you're ok with being perceived as a moron by anyone who reads your posts.
2. That sentence still doesn't make sense. I suspect you meant to say something along the lines of "Actually it would run PC games the best out of the three laptops."

Let me get this straight. You're using youtube videos as your primary method of data collection when comparing the hardware performance of different systems? Do I even need to point out what's wrong with that?

It was a joke. And the sentance didn't make sense because Autocorrect killed it. And my gut feeling is to get the AMD A8 because it's cheap, runs what I need it to run, and is actually not bad. At least I'm not saying "Atom is the best for everything because I saw it on a YouTube video."
