Is there a difference between the Gamecube and the Wii edition in graphics, performance?
Is there a anyway to fix the Light Glows in RE0 & RE1 Issue 6051 at moment?

@mirko, in both Resident Evil 0 and Residen Evil Remake in the GC version you get a much better performance, Wii is more demand, but in the Wii ver. it has faster loading times than GC ver., I think, also there is no difference between the Gamecube and the Wii edition in graphics.

Edit: OK, it works in the build Dolphin_d3d_20140614_d3d11only_nostupidreleasebug, when Skip EFB access from CPU is OFF, but only on Resident Evil 0.

With Skip EFB access from CPU ON:

With Skip EFB access from CPU OFF:

Unfortunate this doesn't fix the Light Glows in Resident Evil Remake.

But it doesn't works in all light glows of RE0 either, many lights still turn off, even with Skip EFB access from CPU OFF! Sad

See the screenshots: one is before it turns off the other is after it turns off

Edit: I just found that this issue is completely fixed by the Unofficial DX9 build.

https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-testing-needed-dx9-final

Just uncheck the Skip EFB access from CPU, and it works in All Ligh Glows in RE0 now Big Grin

Why the lastest master builds doesn't has this "fix" ?
Am I the only one who is getting better performance with copy to RAM compared to Texture in RE0 Wii?!? Seems very strange but at the beginning of the game (in the train) using OpenGL copy to texture I "only" get 32 fps, while using copy to RAM frame increase to 36...anyone with an explanation?
I have a copy of this game on Gamecube and Wii. Which one would be better to keep? I plan to sell the other.

stepultura

I have a problem when the camera is meant to change but its delayed and after a second or two it changes but my player is still moving while im waiting for the camera to change.
Any ideas?
Hi, sorry if this has already been asked or if i sound dumb asking it but i'm sure alot of you other people have also noticed crackling/static sounds whilst playing the Wii ports of Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0. I'm completely new to PC gaming and only slightly knowledgeable of PC's in general so i am a novice. I found this YouTube video here explaining how to get both games running perfectly and i copied everything from it exactly right down to even installing that specific version of Dolphin -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NWTRqm8i1s

After that both games did work flawlessly, except for the static/crackling which didn't happen alot but still enough to be annoying. Does anyone know a solution to this?

P.S. Incase you need to know my PC specs (as i said i'm a novice) so i'm not sure exactly which specs are important so i just took a screen shot of the system information page of my PC.

Operating System: Windows 7 x64

Processor/CPU: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q9550 @ 2.83GHz 2.83GHz

Video Card/GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6800

Memory/RAM: 4GB
First of all, that version they're using is very old. Get the latest dev version (follow the link in my signature).
Then I can't see your specs, it seems like you didn't copy the whole URL or something... Most important are firstly the CPU and secondly the graphics card.
Real sound bugs have become rather rare in Dolphin. Most sound issues are actually just the sound 'reacting' to the game not running at 100% speed.
So look at the FPS on the upper left. If you get 30 or 60 FPS you're at fullspeed (or 25/50 if you have a PAL version of the game). If you're not, then that's what makes the sound issues.
Even when you're generally going at full speed, however, there are the famous shader cache generation stutters. Those are only very short (and happen less and less the longer you play the game), but can be quite annoying. If that's your issue, you could use Ishiiruka which doesn't have these stutters (might have some minor graphical glitches on the first run, though). Just keep in mind that it's an unofficial build, so if you have issues using it, only ask about it in the Ishiiruka thread: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-ishiiruka-dolphin-custom-version

Thanks for replying. Ok firstly remember i said i'm a novice so please go easy on me if i require detailed explaining. I know you said "Before you answer anything make sure you're using the latest version of Dolphin" but that's just it - i WAS using the latest and as soon as the game would start (both of them) the lag was so bad it was literally moving in slow motion. I researched up on this as much as i could and i saw some people say on some forums that the older versions were better for those games because the latest ones pushed them too hard hence the awful lag (or something like that) I then came across that video i mentioned and followed it to a t and... wallah... everything fixed (apart from the occasional static from time to time as mentioned)

I just quickly played RE 0 again now with the FPS counter turned on and just quickly did the train part (I have an NTSC copy btw) and i kept a constant eye on it's movement. It started right dead on 60 and one thing i noticed was everytime there was movement it would go down to 30 and occasionally as low as 26 (26 was the lowest number i saw the whole time) One thing that surprised me (but i'm guessing it's supposed to happen) is that even during cut scenes the counter moved. Basically any time there was running or fast movement it would go down to 30 or now and then 28 or 26... when the characters stopped moving and stood still or say a door opened it went straight back to 60 and stayed there. I hope i've provided you with sufficient information in regards to that part.

Now, i have no clue what "shader cache generation stutters" are nor do i know what Ishiiruka is or how to use it I'll just sum up everything as simply as i can... after following every step in that YouTube video and reading comments that older versions worked better for RE and RE 0. both games ran perfect - no problems with the graphics at all or the sound ever once, just... from time to time... a crackling/static type sound that may have lasted 10-15 seconds at the most. Again i hope i have provided you with all you need to know. If not please let me know what else you need to know. Thanks.

P.S. As for that screenshot, i thought i had edited that sentence out because for some reason the picture just came up as a blank square. I tried to copy and paste but it wouldn't let me so i just got a piece of paper and pen and wrote down exactly as it appeared on the screen. Is this the proper way to display your PC's specs?

No problem Smile

Ah, right, this game has had those bounding box (you don't need to know what this means Wink ) issues recently if I remember correctly. That's why the game runs badly on recent versions.
Hm, I think it's possible to deactivate bounding box (and therefore the slowness) in the ini (configuration) file of Dolphin but I don't know exactly how to do that.
But I think using Ishiiruka you can just switch it off in the graphics settings menu, so you might want to try that.
The shader cache stuttering are those short stutters when something new (a new effect e.g.) is being drawn on the screen. Like I said, you won't have those with Ishiiruka, either.
Ishiiruka is just another version of Dolphin, an unofficial build 'enhanced' by one guy who works on it diligently. All you need to do is download it and unpack it into a new folder (it will even share the save game folders with the normal Dolphin version, so you don't have to worry about a thing). Just anpack it, start it, configure the settings again. Here, in the graphics settings menu, you can choose between OpenGL, DX9 and DX11. DX9 might be faster for your old PC, just try it out. And in the hacks department of the graphics menu, put the slider next to 'Bounding Box' to 'disabled' (left). That should do it.

PS: You can download Ishiiruka in the first post of that link I posted before. Just click on latest ... and download the newest of the three files there.

PPS: If you're still having sound issues then, you could also try the option 'Time Stretching' in the audio settings. (only in Ishiiruka)
