I need help, the game starts up and I immediately get this:

invalid read at 0x30310004, PC = 0x80171118

If I click okay, it just pops up again and I have to end the task.
Any Suggestions?
Can you find out what build started this behavior so we can debug it?
Well I also tried the supposedly stable 4.02, 4.0 and 3.0. So I have a feeling my ROM rip was bad. I'll try again and get back to you.

Hi! Im having trouble with this game because i cant get past the "Creating a save for this game" screen since i cant just push a button on the pad to press the ok-button and the virtual wiimote(Tried to move the ir with a gamepad and the mouse but i cant see the fist anywhere in the latest build version. Only in 3.5) wont work/doesn't show up.. Tried to switch the nunchuk to the classic controller too and tried both us and eu versions and read through this whole thread so i even tried opengl and software instead of D3D but nothing makes the IR work so any suggestions?

Edit: Also what makes it weird is i have no problems with the wiimote IR in Super Mario Galaxy 2 and havent had any problems even before with running wii/gc games with the emu. I could probably bypass the making of the save if i had a memory card which had a save already in it since i can skip the safety instructions at the beginning just fine by pressing A on the gamepad but i couldnt find out how i should do that. Maybe i could copy the memory card from the dolphins 3.5 version which works but i dont know where it saves the memorycards. And the reason id like to play it on the latest version is it feels a bit clunky on the menus on 3.5.

Nevermind, please ignore
I'm having trouble connecting Player 2 to Dolphin. I'm trying to use two Real Wiimotes (with WiiMotion Plus, no accessories) through the DolphinBar from MayFlash. Both will work just fine in other games, can someone help me out here? I'm using default settings with both Wiimote 1 and Wiimote 2 set to Real Wiimote, the rest set to None.

EDIT: Forgot to say, after build 4.0-7034 this works fine. Thanks, I guess.

I'm suffering from a black screen when launching Punch-out.  I'm confident I have a good backup/iso because I did it myself 5 times now and it passes the Dolphin integrity check.  I've also disabled and enabled the PAL 60 settings in the config which doesn't change anything.

I turned on the debugger and there aren't any errors in the logs that I can find.  it simply launches to a black screen and does nothing.  I've scoured the internet and I'm pretty frustrated at this point as this is the only game of about 20 that I simply can't get to work.

I'm running the latest Dolphin 5.0 release and I'm at work so I can't post my dolphin settings.  I'm using OpenGL and HLE.  I'm just at wits end.  Does anyone have this working on 5.0?  Honestly that's my only other idea at this point to see if it works on an older version of dolphin.

Thanks for any help in advance.
Works fine for me. I'm using Ishiiruka but that shouldn't change anything.
Maybe try deleting the shader cache and/or configs.

Appreciate the help StripTheSoul.

For giggles I was able to get Punch-Out working on a completely different machine, vanilla load of Dolphin, loads perfectly! No issues. Now i'm able to replicate my exact problem if I uncheck "Enable Dual Core." Without changing anything else the game never loads, just a black screen.

Can someone else try this and confirm? To be clear, with Enable Dual Core on, the game works perfectly on this new box, with it off, it never even shows the wiimote generic warning, just black.
Heh, weird, also doesn't launch without dual core support.
