Some people in the dev team also had a bad feeling about making mamario's site the official one.
And some of us weren't Dolphin devs yet at the time that decision was made.
Although I always ask this kind of thing, why was it decided that MaMario's website should be used? For an open source project, I'd have thought it sensible to use a website which multiple devs/trusted users had full edit access to.
Back then, no one bothered updating the website. That'd probably still be the case if it wasn't for delroth
No one wanted to bother with the forum at all, so anyone who provided a half-way decent forum was handed Dolphin on a silver platter. Some of us protested, but it went ignored.
