I will also use whatever is the latest build this weekend just to see if any progress has been made Smile
Music loops in DKC returns, SMG and Zelda SS (very rare) are quite normal using HLE audio. They are there for ages now. Even one year ago these were known HLE problems. But the sound garbage bug in NSMB Wii seems to be new, I also experienced this one yesterday for the first time, but it might be related to OpenAL.

The new Wii HLE engine might be able to fix some of these bugs, but as far as I know, New HLE is currently implemented for Gamecube only, with the Wii-Version being still in development.
Hello there, I think this thread fits well with the problem I've got...

I've been testing several games on the latest 3.5 x64 version, Metroïd Prime 2, Serious Sam Next Encounter and Mario Party 4.

The games are well playable but there is constantly a lot of sound bugs while i'm playing, for example in Serious Sam I often listen noises of monster which are not on the map (level), in Mario Party 4, it rather sounds like the music has lags... Only Metroïd was running well, exepts some crashs, that I've fixed while running the game with an older version downloaded from an unnoficial site (that's why I don't have the number of the version) but Serious Sam and Mario Party 4's sounds were even worse on this older version.

Since my computer can handle everything, which would be the best settings to avoid sound bugs and if possible also avoid the crashs? (crashs only happened on Metroïd)

Many things have been said in this thread but I didn't take the time to read all the pages.. Tongue

Thanks for help Big Grin

Also i'd like to say that the developpers of Dolphin have done a great job, as GameCube and Wii owner, it's always a pleasure for me to play these games again even after having sold them. Really thank you guys Big Grin

Actually I wonder if it is a 64 bit thing. Anyone getting the issue on 32 bit?

Update: I just tried it with 3.5-270 and used the OpenAL backend (LLE) and the static persists.

I added a screenie of my installed applications in case anyone wants to look for anything conspicuous.
Yepp, I'm still having the issue even after the OpenAL version of Dolphin, using the latest one I could find.
However this time I noticed that I didn't get the speed up music, but rather a constant buzz sound (which was still related to the background music since regular sounds still worked, but the constant buzz sound was constant).
And this happened with just a minute of gametime in Super Mario Bros Wii..
Hmm beginning to wonder if its related to having a realtek soundchip I am about to try adding my Creative X-FI extreme gamer PCI card to the system and trying it out with that and seeing if I still have the issues on those that I know have the issue.
That would be very strange because I had a RealTek integrated sound chip on my old mobo and never had this issue. Perhaps it is a new driver issue with them.

Wait. Thinking about it, I did have the sound issue right before I switched my mobo, but I didnt update any drivers on it because I was replacing the silly thing, so they were the same drivers from when I didn't have the issue.

Also, dumb question:
I use HDMI on my Graphics card, so would the RealTek drivers still be involved or would it be the ATI drivers for HDMI?
You could try disabling the onboard realtek drivers in the bios if you have the option so that it completely takes it out of the equation and see if it still happens.
i've finally found a way to fix these sound bugs by changing the sound engine from DSound to XAudio2 (48000 Hz) (with realtek sound card)

it has at least worked for Mario Party 4, I didn't try any other game yet, will see that later.
Doesnt help me at all Metaliman I have been using xAudio2 this whole time as its what I use with PCSX2
