Usually it happens within an hour or 2. I just got through playing and it happened with 758 but not until about 3 hours in, so it appears this was a slight red herring. Will keep looking and see if I can find the exact revision.
Update:
I got the same static in 749 and that is the farthest I can go back on the website. Any ideas?
Awesome. Tested all the way back to 735 and the issue is there. Will keep going tomorrow and report back here.
Update:
Not sure how much more time I will get before next weekend so I will post what I have in case someone else is testing as well. I got all the way back to 655 and the problem still exists.
problem with some pokemon game ex: pokemon coloseum (game cube-1.4 gb not need hight system)
with graphics max-low setting
Final update for the weekend. I am a little troubled because I tried 325 and the issue still exists so I think something else may be involved. I will do more thorough testing with 3.0 this week to be 100% sure it does not happen with that version. I already did some testing and others have also confirmed, but having an issue go that far back without being noticed is strange I think.
Update:
Found this existing issue because it looks exactly like what we are experiencing and they make it sound like it goes way back as well. This may quicken the process when I (or someone) is able to narrow down exactly when the issue was introduced because an official bug report already exists.

That bug report was only made last month on the 14th so it hasnt been around that long and they posted they were using 3.0-842-dirty which is a dirty build and they are labeled as dirty for a reason.
I wasnt clear and I apologize for that. I was referring to their statement when they said it happened 1.5 years ago.
3) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin? Please specify the exact revision when the
problem began.
No, the problem was always there for me since I playing Kirby Wii
(which was about 1 1/2 years ago).
haddockd, this may help speed up your regression testing (if you're not already doing it that is). Try playing with the Framelimit off for a bit or use the Tab key so you can play faster. Seems as if the static-like audio may be linked to the amount of audio processed rather than a strict time limit based on actual gameplay. I notice that this issue takes about 2 hours to appear when I'm playing SoA without using tab to speed up battle sequences. When I do tab a lot, it comes in around 1 and a half hours, and once after just an hour and 15 minutes.
Thanks Shonumi. It is the weirdest thing: it depends on the build. I always use Baten Kaitos to test (unless the build wont load it...looking at you 655...and then I played Wind Waker. It really depends on the build as to how long it takes for the issue to show up. Sometimes it happened in under an hour and others it has taken almost 3 hours to happen. I have been trying to nail down exactly what type of music, transition, etc would make it happen faster, but no dice. I think I will play build 77 tonight as it is the furthest I can go back without going to 3.0
Could someone sum up this thread? What audio issues happen, in what games precisely, do they still happen after the new-ax-hle merge for the GC games that use AX, etc.
