In Dolphin , i5 3570k @ 3.2GHz(underclocked) ~ i7 980 @ 4.0GHz (Please note that Dolphin is a dual core application and Dolphin doesn't care about Hyperthreading)
i5 4670k is faster than i5 3570k
So , yes it is much better than i7 980 (at least 40% faster clock for clock)
Edit : Oops , Phenom II X4 980BE , not i7 980X . Phenom II x 4 980 is much slower than i7 980 . So you do the math

hmm i do do the math and im going to microcenter sooon 8))) and i know about hyper threading plus i5s dnt have that atleast not that one anyways so not applicable in this case but thanks 8) but would the extra core help with audio at least any tiny bit maybe lock threads to cores checkbox thing in settings? probly been asked before but i never god all that lle hle stuff and with 3.5 it got a fix or something idk sorry im ramble
Do a small overclock : i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz - 0.9Vcore , most demanding games will run full speed with LLE
You can push it higher without breaking a sweat (like 4.6GHz with 1.2Vcore)
