I have tried everything, there is no physical switch, the BIOS settings are already set-up properly (either Integrated or Switchable, I chose for Switchable). The activity monitor shows my GPU idling, as well as nVidia Inspector. Neither directX9 nor directX11 plugins recognize the GPU. PCSX2, for example, you see activity and the information window shows the GT520M being recognized. This could be a mistake in Dolphin, a compatibility issue. Then second question is, why does it work for admin89, for example.
Turns out a build was just complied on EmuCR that force-enabled the dedicated GPU, which means the developers are aware of such issue, but I wouldn't touch those EmuCR builds with a ten foot pole. If you want to try it here's the link
http://www.emucr.com/2012/12/dolphin-git-35-80.html I doubt these builds are supported here though.
Err... Dolphin includes SSE4.2 (afaik) by default.

Yeah, but aren't those builds awfully unstable? I doubt they're even optimized for CPUs with SSE, SSE3/4/4.1 etc.
bollocks, slow at posting things yet again
Maybe you shouldn't talk about stuff you don't understand.
Guess this is a compatibility issue after all. I'll just wait for new drivers and builds until the issue is resolved.

Well, time for me to bugger off, then.
Yo, just fyi: complaining about instability in your first question and then about not being optimized with potentially instability-provoking "optimizations" in your second question seemed kinda contradictory. Especially since one would think that our official builds would be more stable than some weird 3rd-party build which is just distributed to maximize the 3rd party's ad income.
tl;dr: Yes, you indeed appeared like a noob with those questions.

Well, how should have I worded my question then?
to delroth, I think I know a little about CPU architectures, instruction sets, and how CPUs execute processes. I am a current CS major after all.

Maybe you shouldn't have asked the question at all. Why would you even think that the official builds are "awefully unstable"? And doubting that the builds are optimized for SSE is a silly thing to do, since it is clearly stated in a number of places that Dolphin
requires a CPU with SSE2 support. You would think a CS major would reflect a little more on what he/she is about to say instead of just blabbering along.
